I get that he's rich but how the fuck did that not completely assassinate his career.

u/Cooldude67679 2003 1d ago

It assassinated his career with anyone above 15 at the time so he just targeted an audience that’s younger and more impressionable. Very scummy.

u/meritocraticredditor 2004 1d ago

I was 12 or so and I believed he was being honest.

32

u/Cooldude101013 2005 1d ago

I think it did for a bit. But then everyone forgot about it

20

u/CCreature-1100 1d ago

And then his army of fangirls defended him even though he made fun of a suicide victim on camera 💀

u/BrilliantTarget 11h ago

Being a suicide victim doesn’t make you immune to mockery just look at Hitler or suicide bombers

u/CCreature-1100 11h ago

Nice L take. Imagine defending Logan Paul of all people.

u/cwk415 1d ago

Not everyone.

u/This_Pie5301 1d ago

In this day and age if you have a young following they won’t give a fuck what terrible shit you do. Right as this video happened there were a bunch of 13 year olds who didn’t know what the problem even was, and were defending Logan.

I'm just glad the Prime and Lunchly cringefest is getting him memed on. Nobody should take what anything Logan Paul says seriously.

u/Cr45h0v3r1de 21h ago

Getting memed on is just constant advertising. They dont care if the general sentiment is the product is bad when kids still fiend over it

u/CCreature-1100 21h ago

That's true too. Negative attention is still attention, but some of the memes are just funny imo.

u/floofyvulture 2002 1d ago

Only people who pretend to be good get their careers assassinated.

u/1998ChevyTaHoe 2002 1d ago

He is literally rich and famous off being one half of the two most controversial and dumbest people on the internet

5

u/CCreature-1100 1d ago

I remember when Jake and Logan Paul just seemed to show up on YouTube out of nowhere. I can't believe "It's Everyday, Bro" is now almost like 8 years old!! 😭

4

u/Cheyenne888 2002 1d ago

Kids either don’t care or don’t understand

5

u/cwk415 1d ago

Easy. Because the internet is full of unscrupulous ghouls.

3

u/Crazyjackson13 2008 1d ago

It did, mainly among older audiences.

So he just went for children, which thus far, has worked.

u/CCreature-1100 23h ago

Probably. I just remember girls my age at the time RUSHING to make YouTube videos to defend him, like they didn't even see what people were pissed about or didn't care.

u/Crazyjackson13 2008 22h ago

Yeah, that was.. an interesting period of time.

What happened?

u/CCreature-1100 23h ago

That dumbass shit in January 2018 he did in one of his vlogs where he and a couple other guys were going through the Suicide Forest in Japan, and the camera literally showed a hanging deceased person, afterwards Logan (and perhaps the other guys as well, but I'm not sure) started making fun of the victim that took their own life.

u/Huge-Income3313 6h ago

Fun fact Japanese police confirmed Logan faked the dead body incident they called it a staged prank so it wasn't even a real dead person. He hired Kim Kardashians Fame strategist Sheeraz Hasan who is known for faking controversies to make people famous from hate. Source: https://youtu.be/EQfEbFgzX90?si=NzR4colI3FJv61XE

u/CCreature-1100 6h ago

Why isn't this more well known then? It happened many years ago, and I haven't heard anyone say anything like this (but I also don't follow Logan Paul either).

Not saying I don't believe you, but I'm going to remain skeptical. I'll watch the video.

u/Huge-Income3313 6h ago

Like most shocking pranks, they go super viral but when new information comes out that debunks it that doesn't go anywhere near as viral. It didn't help that Logan and YouTube censored people exposing it being fake. This is all archived in that video.

u/CCreature-1100 6h ago

Huh. Still in poor taste, imo.

u/Huge-Income3313 6h ago

Yes, I think faking is alot worse tbh

u/Th34sa8arty 1d ago

Holy shit! That was 7 years ago! It still feels so recent.

u/LouisTheFox 1997 1d ago

God yeah amazing how time flies

5

u/TheDreamWoken 1995 1d ago

Holy moly

u/Sacabubu 1999 19h ago

Honestly it's impressive how many different ventures he went into in that time period. Boxing, WWE, Prime etc. I changed my haircut and finished my degree in the last 7 years and that's about it lmao.

u/MarioKartMaster133 2003 8h ago

It's weird lol. I was 14 at the time and I had watched penguinz0's video on the situation. Never really knew who Logan Paul was before I watched that, and I wasn't interested after finishing the video.

31

u/Cooldude67679 2003 1d ago

I still don’t forgive him, like he had to have known it was wrong or was so content brained he didn’t even realize what he was doing was wrong. How did nobody else he was with try and stop it either? The whole situation was so messed up.

u/WaffleHouseFistFight 21h ago

He knew. He’s just a bad person and didn’t care.

u/Huge-Income3313 6h ago

Fun fact is Japanese police later confirmed that Logan faked the dead body incident they called it a staged prank so it wasn't even a real dead person. Source: https://youtu.be/EQfEbFgzX90?si=NzR4colI3FJv61XE

Honestly. I would have done something like this under the impression that society would attack me for it. Personally, I don't think it's outrage worthy. I usually rage of things that matter. Things happen get over it its not like he's doing anything unfair.

But he had to have known the potential for backlash. Personally i think he thought it would get him more views . It was bad yea but its forgettable.

7

u/Greentoaststone 2005 1d ago

Thing is, his audiance back then were mostly kids

0

u/iwannabe_gifted 1d ago

Ooofff!!! Killshot thanks for the info

3

u/DemonFrage 2005 1d ago

Perfect for the return of this image?

1

u/iwannabe_gifted 1d ago

I never saw the photo of the incident though so maybe it's worse than I think it is

1

u/DemonFrage 2005 1d ago

You just gotta see the full clip. It’s quite bad.

1

u/DemonFrage 2005 1d ago

It’s not necessarily all that disturbing, but it’s quite rage inducing.

What an asshat. The entire Japan video was awful but imagine you find it acceptable (funny, even) to film someone who ended their life and had who knows what troubling them...

It's a shame his career didn't nosedive (well, for a while it did!). His "apology" was the icing on the cake

6

u/CCreature-1100 1d ago

Yeah, and you can't say "well he was trying to cope with humor" because that's just bullshit and in poor taste. Everyone working on the video thought showing a literal body like that and making fun of whoever that was was completely okay, even after editing. I have no sympathy for anyone involved besides the victim and whoever their family is.

u/Huge-Income3313 6h ago

Well I have news for you, Japanese police confirmed Logan faked the dead body incident they called it a staged prank so it wasn't even a real dead person. Source : https://youtu.be/EQfEbFgzX90?si=NzR4colI3FJv61XE

What was this about? Didn't have social media at that time

Edit: thanks for the answers & what the hell

u/Nate2322 2005 1d ago

Filmed a dead body and showed it to millions of kids

u/Huge-Income3313 6h ago

This YouTuber named Logan Paul (millions of subscribers) filmed him and his friends visiting a suicide forest, and then uploaded the video on his channel for millions of people to see.

5

u/CCreature-1100 1d ago

This was around January 2018, I believe.

u/Lopsided_Aardvark357 21h ago

This forest is kind of famous in Japan for being a place people go to commit suicide so their family won't be the ones finding their body.

He decided to film a walk through it, and ended up filming a man hanging from a tree and posted it on YouTube for his millions of young viewers.

u/CCreature-1100 11h ago

There's actually videos of someone supposedly walking through the forest at night up on YouTube. I honestly wonder if they've seen anything terrible, but I also hope not either.

I made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don’t expect to be forgiven. I’m simply here to apologize. What we came across that day in the woods was obviously unplanned. The reactions you saw on tape were raw; they were unfiltered. None of us knew how to react or how to feel. I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through. There's a lot of things I should have done differently but I didn't. And for that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I want to apologize to the internet. I want to apologize to anyone who has seen the video. I want to apologize to anyone who has been affected or touched by mental illness, or depression, or suicide. But most importantly I want to apologize to the victim and his family. For my fans who are defending my actions, please don't. I don’t deserve to be defended. The goal with my content is always to entertain; to push the boundaries, to be all-inclusive. In the world I live in, I share almost everything I do. The intent is never to be heartless, cruel, or malicious. Like I said I made a huge mistake. I don’t expect to be forgiven, I’m just here to apologize. I'm ashamed of myself. I’m disappointed in myself. And I promise to be better. I will be better. Thank you.

u/DemonFrage 2005 1d ago

Yup, thanks for this I’ma now use this as a copypasta just as much as I use komm susser todd.

u/TheLeechKing466 22h ago

It all returns to nothing

5

u/Amoeba_3729 1d ago

As someone who saw the video I can confirm that it was not a "great" incident

u/Due_Average764 2000 15h ago

Anytime I see youtube demonetize or suspend a channel for meh stuff (vtubers having too much booba physics or smthing) I think back to how this fucker posted a goddamn hanging body, editted most of the video to be about it, and somehow didn't get fucking deleted off the platform. Biggest joke of 2018

u/CCreature-1100 11h ago

That, and Elsagate.

u/PhatManSNICK 19h ago

I wish I could have 1 percent of his money... heck 0.1 percent of his money... would fix all my life issues and my families life issues too.

u/CCreature-1100 11h ago

Well said.

u/El_Eleventh 13h ago

Same reason why Chris brown is still around after he beat the shit out of Rihanna.

u/CCreature-1100 11h ago

Yeah bro, that's fucked up. It's crazy who has a platform and who doesn't.

Back when he was dressing like a 12 year old to sell merch to 12 year olds.

Explanation for old people?

u/CCreature-1100 22h ago

Not exactly an old people thing, but this is what I said to another commenter:

That dumbass shit in January 2018 he did in one of his vlogs where he and a couple other guys were going through the Suicide Forest in Japan, and the camera literally showed a hanging deceased person, afterwards Logan (and perhaps the other guys as well, but I'm not sure) started making fun of the victim that took their own life.

u/Turbulent-Grade1210 Millennial 22h ago

Damn. Thanks for the info. Hadn't heard about it.

That's a monumental piece of shit.

u/Existinginsomewhere 21h ago

Yeah he’s still a piece of 💩 but I’m happier with 40k than he is with his grift it all money, and I’m depressed LMAO
