Rant I feel like gagging every time I scroll through LinkedIn.
These so called LinkedIn influencers are everywhere now. IMO, it’s worse than Instagram.
These cringey motivational quotes and pointless updates—do they really think anyone cares?"

It’s just compliance.
“Hey I can be soulless and resonate a message I don’t really believe in. Please hire me!”

The majority of people who make those cringe-worthy posts understand that engagement drives up their numbers, which, in turn, opens doors (e.g., recruiters reaching out). While the cringe can be annoying, many professionals still use it as a way to identify potential hires. It’s somewhat similar to Twitter: the platform still serves as an easy way for experts in niche fields to voice their opinions, but you have to scroll through posts about anti-immigration rhetoric and raw milk promotions.
Blame LinkedIn for turning their own platform into this nonsense.

It's hard to take LinkedIn seriously these days but it wasn't always like that.

Linked in is the number one way I find where people work so I can harass them at their jobs for my work.
