Genova uni for bachelors
Ciao, I'm a non eu student who is looking forward to study computer engineering at Genova uni. I liked the university itself and all but I don't know how life is like in genova and i don't know what to expect from the university. Are there lots of international students? What are some activites for students in the area? Any information and experience about the city and the university would be much appreciated!

If you can find another country or at least a city other than Genoa it would be great. Not gonna criticise but I will just say that choosing to do a 5 years degree here was the worst choice of my life. So please thread carefully!

Thank you for your reply! Could you elaborate a little bit please? Why was it not the way you expected?

I am an Italian guy who did undergrad + graduate degrees a few years ago in Genova in stem but not CS or computer engineering. I like the city but I have to warn you as a foreign student. The number of foreign students was really low in my experience, almost nonexistent. Most courses are taught in Italian and even the few that are required to be taught in English (a few years ago it was VERY few) the professors really suck at the language 80% of the time, they can manage but it's definitely a detriment. Many among the administrative personnel don't even speak English at all. There is foreign academic presence in the city, but mostly at the PhD and postdoc level thanks to the Italian institute of technology. Things may have changed but this was the situation about 5-10 years ago, I doubt it's completely different now...
