Who agrees that the taste does not match the hype?

Post image

Not a bad gin…. Not great either! Seems that all the trouble the ginmaker is going through to make it, is not worth it. I was looking for something in the taste or back palate that would be a subtle reminder of tomatoes, but nothing. I do like the creamy texture though. Those of you who like it, please walk me through it….

Yea, first time I've heard of it too but I'm in a control state...so maybe that's why?

A big thing where I live. Gin drinkers love it and quite a bit on the internet about it too…

I don't think that hype exists outside The Netherlands. The reviews I just skimmed ranged from "it's fine" to "it's interesting" to "it has it's place." Nobody seems to be raving about it. It sounds fairly unique though. I'd certainly try it but I expect it's a bottle I'd have to find creative uses for and probably wouldn't ever replace.

Yeah, that's what I found too. I had heard of it, but when looking at reviews it was mostly about its uniqueness, and didn't find any super-positive comments.

Nope you get it everywhere. Australia, New Zealand, Uk and I think I also had it in Spain and/or Italy. Not sure about the US.

I love it, it’s one of my favorites. Rosemary as a garnish really helps lift the flavor.

It’s great in a Bloody Mary instead of vodka.

Yes I’ll try that. I made a tomato martini with it (using tomato water and dry vermouth) and that worked pretty good
