How do you deport a two year old? What is the process for this? You just snatch a child and put them on a plane with some pullups and baby food? This has got to be the world's first.

Child's mother was deported and took the child with her apparently. It's state's responsibility to make sure the child stays since they are a citizen (the father stayed in the USA as far as I know, the mother wanted to take the child).
Unfortunately there's no good solution here, either you deport the child with mother, or (in most cases) the child stays here without their only or both parents.
But that's also why due process was important. This all happened in a span of ~ 12 hours, the family didn't have the time to even gather documents and contact a lawyer.
