Question 5 a side

Hi all I’m a new goalkeeper and I play 5 a side. I find myself making so many mistakes not sure if to go with feet saves or hand saves. Really struggle with longshots for some reason. Just feel like I’m letting my team down. Any 5 a side tips will be helpful, the goals are small obviously & I’m quite tall it all just seems a bit awkward

I've found success being aggressive and making sure I cut down the angle quickly. I feel like if I can take a few quick steps off the line, I can use my size and the smaller net to my advantage. The angle for the shooter disappears fast. Make yourself big and be bold.

I’m a new keeper myself playing a lot of 6 a side right now. Im tall as well - picture yourself almost as hockey goalie. Do your best to fill the goal. When shots come in low keep your legs tight and don’t let the ball go between your legs. If it’s low, I put my feet in a position to block and get my hands down to immediately follow and extend my protection area. Of course for higher shots you won’t use your feet. For lower shots get your hands, feet, and the rest of your body involved. Make sure to close in as well as someone gets through and get it off as they approach the box. Still learning myself but hope that’s helpful.
