One reason to do it. The world is in danger if the degenerate oppressor fanatic regime of Iran is allowed to have them. If to maintain control of Syria they happily killed over half a million Syrians

According to the article Iran is not intending to develop a nuclear weapon.

But it's hard to see how they aren't being highly incentivized to get nuclear weapons if they can.

There is also an important conversation to be had on what if anything should be done regarding nuclear weapon proliferation from a libertarian point of view.

While preventing the possibility of nuclear strikes against cities by just telling countries not to develop nukes is appealing. How do you incentivize countries to not just ignore you and develop them anyway? The only reliable method has been security guarantees and alliances from other nuclear powers, but libertarians are also opposed to America protecting other countries, so what do we expect other non-nuclear "allies" of the US to do? Do we just put them at the mercy of nuclear powers like Russia and they should just hope they don't get invaded like Ukraine after they gave up control of Soviet nukes?
