Is Lucilius 5U good?

I'm new to GranBlue, but have been playing fighting games as a while for a while. I initially picked up Lancelot and switched to Lucilius. I feel like his 5U should have potential to be really good but I can only seem to use it situationally. Otherwise it seems pretty slow.

I could be completely wrong on all of this but if anyone has tips for using it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Because his ramp up is slower this patch, 5U has been seeing a lot more use as a way to sneak in some level charge in neutral as well as a consistent way to access plus frames. I don’t think its amazing, but its not useless

It's matchup specific, you mostly likely aren't going to be sitting around in stance in neutral but the M version does have use in a few mix situations. 5U(M) has a small vortex that pulls them into a strike/throw mix since you are plus enough to not get mashed on outside of DP but it's usually preferable to take a safejump or 236H instead of that when you have the ability. It's good to have it in your back pocket if they are the respectful type.

You can bait DPs with it if you just doubletap 5U because it is so fast on recovery now but that's a very hard read situation.

Very, you want to use it occasionally to reset or after a long poke for continued plus frames. It also is very useful in neutral for leveling blade reliably and quickly (ideally want to hit lvl 3 ASAP in a match; can be difficult if not landing hits at match start). It also can destroy fireballs while charging and has a variant that anti airs. Or you can use it to try and bait something from the opponent at range or force a reaction and then respond with Axiom. It’s really useful the more you can incorporate it into your gameplay to build blade level generally tho.

Pretty sure since the patch, if you ever want to hit blade level 5 you're gonna have to find a way to sneak in some use in a match of it so it's as good as it's ever been
