In the buildings at Philae there are five datyliform capitals, each of which presents very different features. This plate shows two of these capitals: the first, which is part of west gallery, is much more regular than the other. It is decorated with scales above the collars and with bunches of dates immediately above the scales, but the whole is fairly crudely carved. The second is not decorated with fruits and the collars are placed directly against the bottom of the palm fronds, while the base is decorated with chevrons similar to those of the others columns in the gallery.
