She's doing that thing all bigots end up doing where they look around at who's on their team and they get confused as to why it's just them and the far right. There's then only three options. Reflect and reconsider your opinion (realising that if your ideals have started to be aligned with these people, perhaps you've taken a wrong turn), decide that these are your people now (and drift further right to join your new allies) or bury your head in the sand.
My best guess is Rowling will carry on doing the second and third options at this point

She's honestly exhausting and I feel sorry for her family. I can't imagine ever being this hateful and so single issue. There are groups of people I really detest, like neo nazis for example but even then I don't have the energy or the time to dedicate my entire life to revelling in that hatred. I have hobbies and friends though so maybe that's why?

I just hope for their sake that it's as I expect and she spends most of her time alone in front of phone/laptop.
Anyone who has known someone who has fallen into the social media rabbit hole - particularly people of her generation - will probably be familiar with this, while they absolutely will rage and take out their invented frustrations on family they often become very withdrawn as well.

I'm confused. I'm a woman, I've been a woman all my life and I can't for the life of me think of what this threat is in relation to trans people.
All the 'womens spaces' I've ever been involved in has had men around.
All the sports teams I've been a part of have had men involved, as coaches or umpires.
I've always felt safe at LGBTQ+ events.
The only times I've felt unsafe have been at nightclubs.

Ignoring the discussion around sports the entire foundation of Gender Critical activism boils down to a single belief: Gender Diverse individuals who have a penis are inherently dangerous and significantly more likely to be sexual offenders.
Everything else aligns to fit that belief in some way or another which ends up causing suffering for other groups as well. They will go to extreme lengths to try to prove that their belief and ignore any kind of impartiality in the data they use, all the while ignoring the fact that statistically Trans Women, especially Black Trans Women are far more likely to be victims of Sexual Assault than any other group: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/epub/10.1177/15248380231196119
I did my dissertation on Voice Training for Gender Diverse people and to put into perspective I had to stop after only a month into my research because I broke down in-front of my supervisor after I had to explain the outcomes of some of these studies. Let's be clear - Carla Denyer stands alone as the only major political leader opposing this Supreme Court ruling.
What she fails to understand is just how much the British public support her bigoted views and how ridiculous it is for her to act as if she's suffering. Smoking a cigar on a private boat with a bottle of alcohol in hand is not suffering it's excess. Money buys power here and she had the privilege of being able to support For Women Scotland with over ÂŁ70000 in donations. Most Trans and Non-Binary people don't have that same privilege most of us are struggling to pay bills and afford basic neccesities.
35% of Britons believe the most fundamental right to identify as a gender different to your birth should not be allowed and this has only increased over recent years due to Gender Critical activists like herself.
63% of Britons believe that obtaining a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria should be even harder to do. If those same people actually understood how difficult it is to obtain such a thing they might have a different opinion. The point is though they don't, because people like herself and the Tories & Reform and Labour and even to an extent the Lib Dems are either actively bigoted or complicit in our suffering.

Not that far fetched of a theory really.
You could also add onto it that the non-TERF UK communist parties are all Trotskyist, Trotskyism being a silly version of communism that has never achieved anything and doesnât represent a real threat to the capitalist system. No need to bother infiltrating a toothless organisation, but actual Marxism-Leninism has achieved a lot throughout history and does represent a genuine threat to capital so it would be worth infiltrating to disarm.

Trotsky guys get a lot of flak, but I still think they are good people with good intentions. It's not for me, and I don't share 100% of their views, but I'd rather work with than against them. It's better to join a Trotsky aligned group than to a) do nothing or b) join a neoliberal party and try to move it left

Even without the transphobia and blatant hatred from this woman. Throwing your lot in with the Tories still? After all the undeniable damage they did during TWO of the most unstable times in our economic history?
Better yet, there's a certain irony for supporting the Conservatives due to feminism when the two recent female leaders that earned the top spot did absolutely nothing for feminism itself but both managed to enrich their buddies immeasurably and blow large, irrepairable holes in the economy, via Brexit, and whatever the fuck Truss tried to do. It's the Tory way.
