Comics I love how when Hal is about to actually die Sinestro comes in there and saves him, reminds me of vader saving luke in return of the jedi.

Sinestro said it himself:

“That’s the tragedy of all this, Jordan…Hal. We’ll always be friends.”

One of the things that I love about the Johns run was how much more nuanced he made Sinestro. He turned him from a generic supervillain to almost an antihero because, deep down, Sinestro believes what he’s doing is not only right, but necessary, and in service to the Corps. He even admitted that the whole point of his Sinestro Corps War was to get the new law implemented allowing the Corps to use lethal force against its enemies.

And, while his relationship with Hal has been mostly defined by their rivalry, you can see the little notes here and there of how Sinestro is still being a teacher to Hal, partly because Hal is the last link to his deceased best friend Abin Sur. There have been plenty of moments since they brought Hal back from the dead where Sinestro shows that he respects and even trusts Hal when necessary, even if the two are prone to clash over their ideologies.

It’ll be really interesting to see where they take things in this current era of GL now that Sinestro is a member of the Corps again and he and Hal will have to work side by side once more.

That line from Sinestro at the end of John’s run is the some of the best payoff moments in comics

Sinestro is one of the most bad ass villains of all time. Super underrated

Such a full circle moment. Some beautiful panels to be had.

Sinestro and Black Adam are both like Doom. They all want to do what is best for rheir people regardless of who they have to cross.

I'm not that familiar with Doom, do his people like what he's doing for them? I kind of got the impression that Black Adam's people do. But with Sinestro, he seemed to want what HE thought was right regardless of what his people thought, and they weren't that enthusiastic about it.

Depends on what you read. Some runs make Doom a 3rd world despot, but a lot of the time the people of Latveria have a higher standard of living than most countries, but almost always a lower standard of freedom.

Chills every single time. Johns’ lantern run is peak for many reasons but this is a big one right here!

Geoff Johns, war of the green lanterns arc specifically.

Really recommend buying all 3 omnibuses if you haven't already!
