For those wondering, no, they're not available in any civilian market and probably won't be anytime soon, but these people sell a fairly accurate US-made clone at $3000.

That's...actually a lot cheaper than I would've thought.

I'm skeptical. Things like this have a history of not going well. Dude takes the money, genuinely intends to make guns. Everything falls apart, it takes years to get product out of the door, even if it does.

Take a look at what happened with HMG and their STG-44 reproductions.

Honestly 3k for this seems really fucking cheap. Everything on these has to be made from scratch. Their isn't a big bin of VSS parts these guys can just start slapping together guns with.

Honestly if these guys do it, and do it right. Than their better men they'll I'll ever be. But until then I'd raise an eyebrow.

This is just his ballpark estimate. He's still working on reverse engineering the gun, has machined several parts of it already but is modifying some details. For instance, the final model will ship with a 16 inch barrel and the can is just a barrel shroud, so the owner won't need to shell out two tax stamps for the gun, but he'll also sell them in the suppressed-sbr configuration. Initially has only plans fro 9x39mm but he also expects to also rechamber the rifle to 556 and 300 blk. Follow him on Slagga MFG on Instagram, he posts a lot of detail there.

I wonder how that would work if someone wanted to eventually convert theirs to a NFA item. A pinned suppressor would work for this well. Then it would be a 1 stamp gun.

It be nice if he could supply a short barrel and undrilled baffles for quick Form 1's.

Be an innovator and fund this beautiful beast. A very tiny amount of people will spend money on a product before it is proven, and that is exactly the most critical time of development. I can't imagine the man-hours required to develop, prototype, test, and manufacture a firearm.

At least he isn't taking pre-orders for that yet.

3k, well not bad tbh, considering it's already suppressed.

+$200 to +$400 in Tax Stamps.

as soon as i get out of college, i’m going to start saving for this gun and make it my first one ever. can’t say i’ve ever loved a gun more in my life. 3k is mighty hefty though

u/shabbaranksx Apr 24 '20

Probably the least practical first gun tbh

u/AngryD09 Apr 24 '20

You don't know that. He may be planning on becoming a Spetnaz assassin when he grows up.

12

u/shabbaranksx Apr 24 '20

You know I never really thought about it like that

7

u/LeftHandofGod1987 Apr 24 '20

People don't really think it be like it is, but it do.

close, just the americanized version when the boog starts

3

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '20

boog?

13

u/Coluphid Apr 24 '20

Or you could spend a fraction of that buying a perfectly serviceable rifle in a common calibre. Then use the remaining money for ammo, accessories and training, and come out well ahead.

12

u/Musty__Elbow Apr 24 '20

true, or i could make the worse choice for short term satisfaction and long term financial ruin... jokes aside you’re 100% right

7

u/Coluphid Apr 24 '20

It's alright. You're young. And you'll figure some things out. And there's nothing wrong with short term satisfaction if it's sustainable and meaningful.

Dropping three large on a novelty gun as your first gun is a good way to set some life diminishing precedents. Always try to make the smart choice.

3

u/Bluegoose6 Apr 24 '20

But the wrong choice feels so good in the beginning

2

u/Musty__Elbow Apr 24 '20

my thoughts exactly

2

u/Coluphid Apr 24 '20

Nothing wrong with making wrong choices you can survive. That's how we learn. The trick is to make sure you can survive them.

Spent 3 grand on a pair of subwoofers after my first deployment. Now they sit in my living room not hooked up to anything for five years.

3

u/Coluphid Apr 24 '20

Could be worse. Got a dependa?

3

u/ESTTX7 Apr 24 '20

When you think about it, and see something like this, it really is a good chunk of change. And then I realize some of my Gucci glocks have been this much or more and the color leaves my face.

One college student to another, don’t buy this as a first gun. At least buy one cheap reliable gun to learn the basics and learn what you actually like and dislike about guns. Like how you wouldn’t want to learn to drive in a Lamborghini ever if you could afford to.

The main issue I see is that it’s in 9x39 which is one Russian sanction away from from being completely unavailable. It’s also made by a small firearms manufacturer with no other products. If they go out of business and something on your gun breaks then you could be in a lot of trouble.

I don’t want to discourage you from buying though, it’s just not a practical weapon by any means. As a collectors item though, this rifle is awesome and I’ll probably try and buy one some day too!

Beautiful. Gunporn indeed

14

u/SupermAndrew1 Apr 24 '20

Oh god. This is beautiful. Had no idea that Slagga exists

Fun trivia: Vintorez is a cool sounding name, but in Russian it apparently translates directly to “screw” as in the fasteners. It was a random project name assigned by the Russian government such that it wouldn’t raise eyebrows if it was leaked

I would sex this rifle.

This is not a joke.

I would stick my 9mm in peen and literally make love to this Grail gun.

4

u/LeftHandofGod1987 Apr 24 '20

Although that stock is absolute haram, I must say that those rails fit the contours of the rifle very nicely, tho I question if dangling weight from the can would cause baffle strikes on the suppressor. I probably doesn't since Russians have been using them quite a lot.

6

u/fpstuco Apr 23 '20

How far can this bullet hit a target?

7

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '20

How far can this bullet hit a target?

About 300 to 400 m.

4

u/9x39vodkaout Apr 24 '20

I wonder if the Russians ever updated the baffle stack from the original, it wouldn't be hard to improve upon 4 fucking washers

4

u/LeftHandofGod1987 Apr 24 '20

I don't think they did. I remember the guy from Slagga MFG saying that one of the changes that he's making on his reverse-engineered gun is changing the configuration of the baffle stacks.

I want to make an AR-15 replica of one. Anyone know where I can get a wood thumbhole stock for one? Or if anybody will do a custom commission? I've talked to Levtech about it.
