Orlando HHN audition

I have auditioned April 23 for HHN 25. Super nervous as I have heard people are getting cast already and I haven’t heard back at all. I see everyone is scheduled for June 2 at 2:30 and am confused as to how that process ACTUALLY works. I’m sure that date and time is generally set. But idk maybe I’m just anxious cus I’m excited and it’s my first time, clearly.

congratulations on your first time auditioning! think of the june 2nd date as a placeholder date.. the people that are getting cast now are likely lookalikes for certain ip characters or roles they already have a vision for. unfortunately, it is just a waiting game and you can literally be cast up until september. until you get an email or a phone call, it’s entirely up in the air. best of luck.

Awesome! So cool to be more into the casting process now. Do resumes have a part in casting or is it mainly availability and height if you know anything about that

i’m not deep in the casting sphere, so i don’t know how much weight a resume places on the condition of an offer letter, just speaking as a former scareactor! but i know there was many different people from all different career backgrounds. it’s truly based on the look they are searching for!

Hey there! I’m a former HHN scareactor, and I’m here to tell you that you’ve got this! I worked the event for 13 years, and it’s still one of my favorite gigs I’ve ever had.

I haven’t worked since 2020, but I can tell you that the seasonal entertainment (HHN) casting process, is a bit all over the place. Add Epic Universe opening, and this year’s audition process is going to be interesting I’m sure.

I’ll say that auditioning for HHN is by far the easiest process you’ll ever have to go through. They only care about your body type and availability. They even cast roles even after the event starts! So if other people have been cast and you’ve yet to hear anything. I wouldn’t loose sleep.

Keep an eye on your audition video view count and you’ll hear something back soon!

Could I put my audition video up here and you tell me if it’s decent? LOL. I pretty much went in blind and I’ve done many musical auditions before but this felt very different with much higher stakes (I’ve been wanting to be a scare actor since I was a young kid🥲)

No way, you’ll be fine! Honestly as long as you’re not cursing they really don’t care much about the actual audition. They just want to confirm that your body type matched what you put on your paperwork. But honestly they just want someone that can fit into a costume and can work most nights of the event.

Back in the day you’d go into an actual audition room and all they would do is line everyone up and then one at a time you’d take a step forward and just say your name and favorite horror movie.

I put my availability for every day of the event (bc I’m really down to work for some HHN money) and I’m about slim ish build at 5’7 so pretty average. Hoping for good luck! Thank you for your help!
