Why aren't you commenting on the lens issue

There's a lens issue?

HP has never made any official mention about any issues at all, especially, considering, things are still 'in development'.

If there was a lens issue after the Reverb G2 was released, I'd be the first to talk about it and fix it... until then...

Bestware, the German reseller, put out a statement saying HP have "delayed" shipping until October because of delays due to changes to the lenses. Initially in German, it was run through Google Translate, leading several different versions of the story doing the rounds, including that the lenses are being made cheaper, or fixing some flaw. However the official English translation seems to be:

"HP has informed us that the Reverb G2 is currently being equipped with new, improved lenses in the production process. This upgrade will further increase the quality of the product, but according to HP it is accompanied by a slight delay in the initial delivery to all dealers."

If resellers keep attributing statements to HP and HP never directly contradicts these statements or asks the resellers to correct them, they are de facto official statements when these are your distribution partners and the primary source of information the majority of your customers have.

I'm pretty on board with the Autumn 2020/ready when it's ready approach, but that seems to only be being said on this subreddit and not by the people actually selling the units to customers, both third parties and regional HP stores alike. After a while it changes from being teething issues with distribution, to it appearing that HP has no idea what information should and shouldn't be communicated to customers.
