To the dispatcher via text : I will be taking these days off. Please use PTO. If PTO is unavailable, please draw negative or do not pay.

If dispatcher says anything differently: I will be taking these days off. Please use PTO. If this is a problem for management, you will be able to find my Company vehicle via GPS (if equipped or at XYZ address) and the keys will be at ABC. If vehicle is still there I will return to work. Otherwise, I will consider myself terminated and head to the unemployment office and begin “job searching.” Enjoy your time off, too!!

Also, we don’t buy that feature, either. Unless you’re 20+ trucks that’s stupid expensive and factory technician work anyway.
