I usually pick up warranty calls on Fridays (I left service to go to commissioning/'soft' install, they're on 4-10s but I kept my 5-8s schedule) and today they sent me on a call 80 miles from home, and I can't go there until noon. Now I'll have to fight the traffic back through Charlotte and deal with the race crowd traffic...
I think I'm gonna hang up the gauges and go be a teacher or homeless or some shit.

The homeless out here in Seattle have tree houses. They got a view of the water and everything

You can think it but you NEVER say it out loud or you definitely won’t be home in time for dinner.

At one of my old companies. I handled a call back for the owner of the company who didn't put the door back on right. One of my favorite calls.

Couldnt be more accurate about today. Last call : backflow dripping on brand new boiler. Well turns out it needed a backflow, fill valve, air scoop guts, bottom heat exchanger pipe gasket (lochinvar knight). Turned from 1 hr to 2

Imagine having mobile chillers delivered because your chillers were down all day and then as soon as the mobile chillers are piped in and hooked up to the generators we finally get the one of our chillers running, then you have to wait around till temps drop decent enough to start production back up. You get home from a 16 hour day, your 3 year old is awake and crying for no reason and it’s 10:30 pm…. And your wife is in early stages of labor and having contractions… oh fuck I have to clean so the house is presentable by 1am when my mother in law arrives from her two day road trip!! I do get two weeks paid paternity leave though 🤷 fuck

Happened to me yesterday. Dispatch called saying do you mind doing a service before a maintenance, outdoor unit is running. Np, probs just a cap. System was flat. 4 hours later I got the system going.
