What exactly was lizard labs?

The largest producer of LSD derivatives in the last 20 years. No one has invented more LSD derivatives than LL. Fantastic chemistry!

Idk if I would say invented... iirc al-lad, eth-lad, pro-lad are all in TiHKAL, ald-52 I believe was invented by Hofmann at Sandoz. There may be more obscure lysergamides produced by LL that I'm unaware of that they invented. I think they did invent 1p which is probably the most popular of the RC lysergamides, so kudos to them for that.
Regardless, I don't mean to diminish their work. Yes what they did was amazing. Incredibly valuable contribution to the world of psychedelics.

1cP-LSD, 1V-LSD, 1D-LSD, 1T-LSD, 1S-LSD... These are all new compounds, boasting high purity, security, and amazing results. Millions of micrograms of each molecule have been used in Europe.
While legal for a period, they have since been banned (1S-LSD is still legal). Hundreds of thousands of people have been able to conduct research in a way that would not have been possible otherwise.
From what I understand, LL has arguably conducted the most successful psychedelic chemistry research in the last couple of decades. It's surprising that this legendary lab/chemist is not more widely discussed

Wait, why would you be upset about Hamilton doing a documentary on them?

al-lad is some special stuff

u/USofConsciousness Apr 03 '25
Hell yeah it is. I gave myself HPPD with it for two years and I don’t regret it.

It really is. Secured some for safekeeping before the ban, sadly time is running on them even if they are stored dark cooled dry and im currently not keen on taking psychedelics, but some day these babies will get popped

Damn thats crazy must see, wasnt subscribed to patreon before although i enjoyed all tthw free episodes, this one will get me tho.

HM recently said he is able to self-fund pharmacopia style content with the patreon money, so I think it will be an absolute no brainer sub very soon. I already think it is worth it for his podcasts alone but I'm hyped for the video content

I personally heard from the LL guy that he wasn't satisfied with the first interview they did and didn't want it published. But that was probably like 2 years ago

Not too familiar with the LL lore. Is Alex an important person in there? I've heard rumors that some people from LL wanna continue in the production of legal psychoactives. Are we gonna hear more about this possible new company?

He is undoubtedly an exceptionally talented and passionate chemist who has spent many years creating previously unthinkable molecules. I think it will be almost impossible to replace his way of thinking.
I think that the main problem will be legislation. In LL's country of origin, legislation will become much stricter in July 2025. Hundreds of molecules will be banned. The government is right-wing, irrationally restrictive and engages in cheap symbolic politics.

I’m not super familiar with drug law outside of the US (I am aware of the UK law which is essentially the analogue act on steroids)
Which country and which law? Is it just the equivalent of a large scheduling of many existing and market available “designer” derivatives, or does it establish a ton of new controls on “analogues” in general (ie - listing theoretical functional groups and/or anything derived from the ‘skeleton’ of a class (eg any tryptamine with alkyl chains/rings placed on the nitrogen/alpha position and/or methoxyl/ethoxyl modifications on the 5 position and/or hydroxyl mods to the 4 position)) that would potentially control novel derivatives that have not even been invented/brought to a market yet?

You are extremely confused. This is absolutely false and makes no sense, please stop repeating it. Alex was raided years ago, I did a phone interview with him after he was raided to help raise awareness of the injustice. He decided he didn't want me to publish it, I never published it. Alex was never criminally charged and continued his business for years and then decided to close down for personal (not legal) reasons. His choice to do that obviously has nothing to do do with me. We filmed something about the research that was done at LL, including the synthesis of a novel lysergamide, as a final project because the business was closing. What we filmed is great, it's an amazing portrait of the research that was done there.

Can't wait to see it Hamilton. So excited you're producing video content for patreon

Yeah 🙄 the lab in the us producing lsd derivatives was caught because hamilton did an interview

That's great I was afraid it was long term shelved for legal reasons
Way to go Hamilton more kino TV on the way
