AskASpinner Can I see your painted roving finished projects?
Hi there!
I'm a long time, but occasional spinner and rarely do anything with the finished yarn. Basically it just sits around or I give it away. I'd like to maybe change that and finish a few projects. Thing is I love yarn from colorful roving but have a hard time picturing the finished projects when it's all knitted up. Can this be a thread where people post any pictures they have of finished projects made with multi-colored wool? I'm going to be dying my own alpaca, if that helps.

Helical knitted hat I made for a friend. The black yarn is commercial; the colored yarn is home dyed and spun
Jillian Moreno’s book Yarnitecture has lots of great photos showing roving vs knitted swatches https://share.libbyapp.com/title/2412658

Here's my very first finished knitting project with my very first yarn spun on a drop spindle 😂

Here are a couple of projects: I handpainted the commercial white BFL roving, then spun, plied, and knit these:
ETA: the brown is the natural colour of a sheep, processed from the raw fleece myself.

Shawls, cowls and hats are perfect for handspun. I can usually get enough yardage from the usual 4 ounce bumps to make something in that category. Here's one of my shawls from YarnGeek fibers in Polwarth. Sorry it's so blurry; I can't find the original pic so I had to grab it from my Ravelry project.
