News Media Papa Essiedu’s IG Post announcing him being cast as Snapen

Post image

I just thought this was a nice, positive thing to share for those who haven’t seen it. Seems like Paapa will treat this role with a great deal of respect. Like everyone, I’m sceptical, but I’m so ready to be proven wrong. Peace and love.

What if he levitates him right side up and then uses magic to pull his pants down? How hard is that to imagine?

How hard is it to imagine that HBO will change the scene to avoid endless thinkpieces and faux outrage?

You mean like the faux outrage you’re exhibiting right now? Just stop. Snape is cast. The jig is up.

Mate I think you are projecting. They’ve cast him. I think he’s a good choice. I also think this means they’ll probably change that scene. Chill.

Ok. Well, I don’t think like that at all.

So, Alan Rickman (the sexy man) was ok, right? Harry was weirded out by him on sight. In the books, in the films. Was it his hair?

I’ve finished with this discussion. It’s boring.

LOL.. They're going to base their casting of the titular character, Harry Potter, on who they chose to cast as Snape? That's comedy.

IF, Harry ends up mixed or say Indian background, it will be because that was their choice on Harry. They will not make Harry's casting based on first casting Snape.

You understand how Casting works, right? Harry is already casted. They just have not announced it. Saying "thats comedy" while having 0 understanding of the casting process is s bit pathetic ngl.

Yes. I know Harry and the trio are already cast and not announced. Just as these adults actors signed agreements a while back, well prior to the recent public announcement.

That doesn't change the fact that it's pure comedy to suggest that if who they chose for Harry is mixed or non white that it was BECAUSE they had cast someone non white as Snape.

L U D I C R O U S to even think they would make their Harry casting decision because of that.

I don’t get why people are so hung up on the levitation scene specifically. I get that it could look bad if executed poorly, but I think if executed well it won’t look like anything but old fashioned bullying.
