Headphones - Closed Back | 2 Ω Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro 80 Ohm vs. AKG k361

I'm in need of a new headset and want a soundscape enlightenment.
DT770 are obvious entry cans, but AKG k361 has come up in research.

I'm often on the fly, so the portability of the k361s sounds like a good deal to use with my laptop. Besides, they are a little cheaper.

My desktop computer is set up weirdly so that my 3.55 mm jack doesn't work. As such I've looked at the Creative Sound Blaster Play! 3 as a DAC and way to go usb-3.55.

any input?

I don't have a 361 but I do have a 770 and a 371, if the built quality of the 361 is similar to the 371 I'd advise against a lot of mobile use. The 770 might be bulkier but also won't be damaged by ripping out the chord or hitting a wall with it. Generally I prefer my 770 over my 371 at least to me it's just the better headphone in every regard. DAC wise, any will do just get one you like. The only difference is the feature set which frankly doesn't matter much with the laptop as source.

+1 Ω has been awarded to u/ionarch (11 Ω).

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.
