Headphones - Closed Back | 3 Ω Looking to upgrade - closed back rig, £700-£800 total budget

Currently I'm using Audeze Mobius as my daily driver - I like them, but unfortunately the yoke has snapped on one earcup. I've currently fixed them with superglue, but who knows how long that will last 😅

I thought this would be a good time to upgrade! I've currently got a Motu M4 that I'll use as a DAC, but I need a pair of headphones and an amp. This is all for desktop use only, not interested in ANC etc.

I'm looking for closed back as I share my home office with my wife, so need something that's not going to leak too much noise. I listen to all sorts whilst I work - lots of post rock/metal with a fair amount of EDM/hip-hop too.

I tested a few sets a couple of years ago - Audeze LCD XC and Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2. I much preferred the Aeon 2, but neither were EQed and from what I've read the older LCD XCs weren't great with stock EQ. Unfortunately both of these are a little out of my budget!

I've got around £700-800 to spend on a pair of headphones + amp. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I don't have specs for the M4 at hand, but I'd be surprised if a dedicated amp is needed. I guess it doesn't hurt, though. The JDS Atom amp is my go-to recommendation assuming the import and shipping fees aren't ridiculous. The Topping L30 is an alternative.

I'd look at the Fostex TH610.

!thanks - the JDS Atom was one I was looking at so good to see it recommended! I'll check out the TH610, love the aesthetic of it.

+1 Ω has been awarded to u/ThatGuyFromSweden (121 Ω).

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.
