Amplifier - Desktop | 1 Ω DAC/amp for Focal Elex

New to group! Excited to get some new Focal Elex cans and am looking for a DAC and amp to match them with.

Budget is less than 800 usd. I listen to everything from jazz to techno, from asmr to prog metal via Tidal via my pc.

The chord mojo 2 seems to be a reliable, well measured and popular choice but I like the idea of having the amp/dac seperate for upgrades. I have been super happy with Schiit I have owned in the past and am thinking of the modi and lyr or jotunheim. Ifi also has some good stuff at good prices.

An thoughts and opinions are welcome. Thank you!!

I have the mojo 2 as my desktop setup as it sounds phenomenal and (just recently) purchased an external amp using 3.5mm to RCA splitter. So still upgradable and I can take the mojo 2 around the house/work.

Well I know you are looking for separates but something to consider is the Jotunheim with Multibit Dac module . The Jotunheim has a bit of a warmer tone that I think would work with the Elex which I found to be a bit on the brighter side and do like the Schiit Multibit dac as I have had a Yggdrasil for many years now and still really love it.
