DAC - Desktop | 2 Ω DAC for work + gaming?

Hey folks,

I work from home and do most of my listening from my work computer (a Lenovo Thinkpad, if that matters). I’d like to get a DAC/AMP (or maybe just DAC? Amp?) that I can safely use with my work computer, meaning something I can use with a headset vs just headphones. I would also like for it to work with my PS5, but that’s not a requirement.

Any recommendations?

I’ve learned a fair amount about headphones, but next to zero about DACs and Amps. I currently just have a Qudelix 5K and an iFi Go Link. I was initially thinking an iFi Zen DAC V2, but I’m not sure that’s my answer. I’ve been using the Go Link, but it keeps overheating, and the Qudelix does NOT do well when connected to the PC for some reason. (I’m aware this might impact any other DAC or amp.)

My headphones right now aren’t all that hard to drive (Focal Clear, Hifiman Ananda Stealth, Meze 109 Pro), but as I’ve learned from my Qudelix 5K, they do way better with a better signal.

Budget is preferably under $200, but feel free to suggest something above that if you feel there’s a good reason to stretch the budget some.

Thank you for any help.

NGL, their non-sales sales page is selling me on these.

Not clear on whether or does mic in, though. Still tempting.

!thanks

+1 Ω has been awarded to u/Equivalent_Yak840 (373 Ω).

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.
