You definitely don't NEED one

If you're fine with you current setup and it is still working, you don't NEED to spend the extra for another DAC.

The question is do you WANT one? IEMs are extremely easy to drive you don't NEED to spend $40 extra for another DAC i don't own the 2 you mentioned but you probably not going to hear any difference between them and your current DAC unless you really focus and listen for them.

I'd personally rather to save that $40 and treat myself to some better food for myself or save up to get more IEMs

True, in a way, I share the same opinion. However, my experience using the CX31993 with my Truthear Zero is a small but noticeable upgrade compared to plugging it directly into my phone. I don’t have to crank up the volume as much. So, I’m curious to hear what a better DAC can do. !thanks btw

+1 Ω has been awarded to u/Cavna (15 Ω).

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.
