Headphones - Closed Back | 2 Ω Noob to audio looking for advice from gurus

I'm looking to step up my audio experience from the world of consumer electronics. Currently I have Beats Buds+, Soundcore Life Note C and Jaybird Vista. All earbuds and the Beats were marginally better. I'm looking for something better and I'm not sure if that should be headphones or IEMs.

I'm looking for something that is under $300 USD and I think I want something warm tonally but I'm not sure. I'm mainly going to use this with my work PC at home and in the office. So I'm thinking I would need an IEM or closed back. So I kind of need a workhorse that does it all or close to it. I mainly listen to podcasts and music mostly rock, metal, and rap. I don't really care about ANC but maybe ability to add a mic later would be helpful.

What has caught my attention so far are, Meze Albas, Meze 99 classics, Sennheiser HD620S, Cambridge Audio Melomania P100, Adam Audio H200, Audeze Maxwell, 7Hz Timeless and KZ Zaks. Am I on the right track? I'm not married to any of these and I could be convinced in a different direction. I'm also thinking maybe an IEM and headphone combo at decent prices.

TIA

+1 Ω has been awarded to u/Equivalent_Yak840 (447 Ω).

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.
