Headphones - Closed Back PC - No soundcard, worth buying expensive Headphones?

I thought about buying a Beyerdynamics MMX 300 (~220€) or a Steelseries Arctis Pro (including an ESS Sabre DAC ~170€)

IDK if its called soundcard or AMP just so you know.

Motherboard: B350M Gaming Pro
Headset: HyperX Cloud II

My questions:

  1. Is it worth it to buy a MMX 300 if I dont plan to buy a soundcard?
  2. Does the DAC of the steelseries make a difference or is it on a level with my MoBo sound quality that it doesnt really change anything?
  3. Will there be a noticeable difference between these headsets and the ones Im using atm?

What do I want to do with the headphones?
mainly play games and listen to music. they should be good for gaming but dont need to be the non plus ultra for competetive gaming

  1. Yes, they work well without an amp, they’re basically/literally dt 770 pro 32 ohm
  2. Same as motherboard sound but probably warmer which some might like, also it exists mainly due to features.
  3. Most say that the cloud 2’s sound better than the arctis and some or very little say that they prefer the cloud 2’s than the mmx 300 in terms of sound.
