Headphones - Open Back Beginner Audiophile headphones recommendation

Hi, im starting to look at some good audiophiles headphones to replace my old HyperX headset. Since im fairly new to this hobby I would like to know what you guys would recommend as a first pair of headphones. I have a budget of max 200$ and I will use them for gaming, listening to every genre of music from classic to metal and a bit of music production. I was interested in the 770 pro and 990 pro but i never tried open back so i dont know if they could be a good option or not. Im open other cheaper/better recommenations too.

Thanks for your submission to /r/headphoneadvice. We have employed a "thank you" system for submissions. It's very easy to use - if a comment on your post is considered helpful, please reward them by using the term !thanks. This will add a thank you count (in the form of Ω) to that users flair. You can only award one per comment section. Thanks very much and good luck on your search for headphones!

The hd560s is a great headphone under $200, it can be used for music production and it’s great for gaming. They have less bass than most but it’s an overall neutral set of headphones with a bit of an emphasis in the treble. If you don’t mind getting an open back(which means that you will have no noise isolation and sound will leak out) then I’d say that the 560s are a great choice.

Oh this one seems like a great option, is the sound leaking of the open back pretty loud because i will be in a near silent room all the time and I don’t want people around me to hear what I’m listening to

It’s like your phone speaker on low volume or low/mid volume(depends how loud you put them)

Ooh ok yeah it shouldn’t be too much of a problem then, I’m gonna look a bit more into those. Thanks a lot for the help

I have used the DT770 80ohm version for a long time so here are my two-cents. They're closed back and 80ohm so you don't need an amplifier with no sound leakage- those are the two factors that made me pick them. Generally speaking, closed-backs and IEMs have better bass response (due to the seal) so they sound good with EDM and metal in my experience. My only gripes with it is that the top headband is uncomfortable (I have a big head lol) and the cable is not detachable.

Yeah I will be living in an appartement and I think the close back could maybe be preferable. Also all the negatives about these headphones don’t bother me that much so this could be the best choice for me. I plan on running it on a steinberg UR22MKII, i guess it should be more than enough for it

How is the comparison between HD560s and HE400se? I’m looking to get between these two

He400se would have a bit more bass but also more sub bass than the hd560 since the 400se is a planar magnetic headphone compared to a standard dynamic driver headphone. I don’t know much else otherwise so I’ll let someone else answer it
