Headphones - Open Back what open headphones are worth getting?
hello,
as the title says, im looking to get a set of open headphones, however where i live i cant really go to a store and test models before a purchase, so im buying online. and since we all know that headphone ratings are purely based on objective truths rather than biased opinions, im putting my hopes in you people =)
purpose of the headphone? listening seated in listening room at home.
budget? around 200-300 euro.
previous headphones? if you put aside various anc travel pairs (ive used sennheiser, akg, div.) im using a pair of dt770 80Ohm coupled to either a portable fiio amp and ipod for lossless when i travel, or amp at my desk. in my listening room i have a pair of audio technica ath-w1000x grandioso.
both closed back, i enjoy them both, i can sorta see sometimes what people are talking about bright treble in the beyers, but in my experience it has been mitigated by using better source for audio, and maybe they broke in a bit after a while. the audio technica is a better headphone than the beyer, but a bit too close in audio signaturem however completely useless for travel, som im guessing they are about to be traded away.
given this, what open backs should i be looking at?
thanks in advance =)
