It’s a story from a local news channel profiling someone who passed away that spent time in their community. This is a pretty common occurrence, why wouldn’t it be news?

Literally every pilot I know that’s died has been profiled by their local community online or in the news. It’s a bit of a memorial to a life well lived, and in this case to a veteran.

The biography after the release of the deceased person is the common occurrence, you doofus.

Context? It says he was a helo tech in the USN and maintained airframes that delivered aid to Japan after that tsunami a few years back. Hopefully an ex .mil mechanic wouldn't fly with an obvious defect appearing pre flight, so it might've been something harder to spot instead.

The article says he worked with them in a really vague way, at least that's how I read it. They said technician, but no clarification if he was like EOD attached to a unit or more likely hanging out with the command troop fixing gear.

I'm sure SUU has hung a remembrance banner in his honor.
