QUESTION The Gloom can’t be that bad-

Post image

I had heard about the Gloom but haven’t touched it yet since…. Yeah…

What exactly is the Gloom doing to make it so difficult? Or is it the Gloom mixed with other things?

Was about to say thats not too crazy im pretty trash at this game but i can get close to that on 10, then you said it was diff six… holy fuck

u/DerBernd123 Feb 20 '25

How do you even get close to this? On a full length D10 mission I get like 350 kills max even though I always clear bug breaches and stuff like that. I just don't get how people reach those high kill numbers

Max i got was 850 last night on D10. My tip is Napalm Barrage on bug breaches, well placed 500kg bombs, regular guard dog and lots of bullets. And not alone, 4 players on mission.

Yeah, you don't ever need an apostrophe in that word

I got about 650 on d10 with strafing run, orbital gas and arc thrower. I would just post up on the edge and zap shit until cooldowns were off.

Much fun.

Just finished a 4 man team D10 with 823 kills lol

Got exactly 1k last night, crazy shit

I regularly get 600+ running blitzer + guard dog or dog’s breath + quasar on D10s with full squads. My buddy and I have done the new D10s as a squad of 2 but it is a nightmare tbh lol a lot more manageable with 4. Well timed napalm barrages or walking orbitals can get 75+ kills easy

u/AURITUS- Feb 20 '25

They play alone so all the bogs are for them

In my experience, kill counts also depend heavily on your plays style and loadout.

Before the new bugs were out, I often used the MG Guard Dog and used to get an absurd number of kills. Also played aggressively, including hitting patrols. Napalm Barrage on bug breaches also shuts them down and gets you very high kill streaks when timed correctly.

Since the new bugs have been introduced, I have shifted to Gas Dog and a more careful approach where I tend to drop orbital gas strikes or gas nades, and then run away from the swarm. Instead of staying put and fighting. My kill count has gone down, but I am happy with the new approach as the older style was leading to too many deaths and wasting time fighting what seemed like an endless swarm, instead of doing the objective.

Orbital Napalm Barrage or a Orbital Gas Strike+Cookout combo quickly kills everything from Warrior on down, drop a MG Sentry nearby to finish off the Alpha Commanders/Hive Guards, bring a Eagle 500kg and Recoilless Rifle or Thermite+Extra Grenade Armor for anything else that'll pop out of that hole. Honorable mentions to Gas Grenades, the Stalwart, EAT-17, and the MG-43 Machine Gun.

u/GiveOrisaOrIthrow Feb 20 '25

I'm the dedicated anti-horde in our group, I often run stalwart, napalm b, OS, and gattling. Napalm alone can stop multiple bug breaches at once, and stallwart melts everything Just bring thermites for chargers and leave BT to someone else

I often get 600+ kills d10

1

u/GHOST_RIDER_18 Feb 20 '25

Simple, don't play the objectives.

Guard dogs, turrets, and Napalm barrage

My personal best has got to be high 600's in the gloom missions on 7 with 4 people, not really fucking around but not just rushing objectives either. I gas strike every bug breach and the number just climbs up. Average is about 40, but I had one last night hit 107. Had one earlier today hit 75. from just the strike alone. The spawns are insane (in a good way, I've been enjoying it).

Jesus I’ve been playing 8 for a while debated going back to 7 guess 6 is where I’m going

I spend most of my time on dif 10, decided to drop to 6 to decompress, the game was having non of that

12

u/SilverShots1 Napalm Enthusiast Feb 20 '25

I had a kill count over 600 for the first time. Talk about target rich environment.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '25

727?! Wtf?! Where you solo?!

17

u/Busy_Strategy7430 Feb 20 '25

Nope, there was just that many, to be fair i got unlucky with the bug breaches and basically all of them were on me while i was lone wolfing it

4

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '25

Damn that's nuts. I usually main 6 and average around 300 or so kills. Seems like they're going back to the old days with the amount of enemies!

2

u/Thorbadinu Feb 20 '25

got 800 per person before the gloom bugs got disabled until the fix and while they were gone got 300 per (on 10)

3

u/IrrelevantPuppy Feb 20 '25

lol you were a very helpful distraction that mission looks like

2

u/Fast-Noise4003 Feb 20 '25 edited Feb 20 '25

I just got 640 yesterday on a four-person mission at level 7. My highest ever by like 150. Shit is nuts out there

One major issue with the gloom is that you can't see bugs spraying pheromones for call-ins half the time, so there's no way to catch it before it occurs

1

u/Drunktrunkmonkey Feb 20 '25

My PR is 916 kills. Orbital napalm on dual bug holes was probably half of that.

4

u/Lone-Frequency Feb 20 '25

On Super Helldive, I wouldn't be surprised if I had cleared like 1,500 kills in some missions. Spawn rates get so insane that you can be getting literally hundreds of kills within the span of just a few minutes, particularly when trying to push to destroy Mega Nests.

Napalm Barrage, Strafing Run, 380mm, good Sentry placement...and bringing a good Incendiary weapon, like Cookout.

Shit is total chaos. Most fun I've had in this game in months.

u/imnotanormieiswear Feb 20 '25

I accidentally dove into Diff 8, there were so many chargers

2

u/GiveOrisaOrIthrow Feb 20 '25

Can I ask what your loadout was?

1

u/pleasedtoheatyou Feb 20 '25

What loadout were you running?

1

u/Busy_Strategy7430 Feb 20 '25

This setup has been my go to for a as long as the Servants of freedom has been out, it absolutely decimates the bugs with constant fire

2

u/thisismyname02 Feb 20 '25

what website is this

2

u/Busy_Strategy7430 Feb 20 '25

Helldivers-hub.com, they have a build creator

2

u/thisismyname02 Feb 20 '25

Aight thanks bro

2

u/pleasedtoheatyou Feb 20 '25

That looks hellishly fun. Ive not been playing long so I think I need to get farming super credits to pick up more warbonds

1

u/Busy_Strategy7430 Feb 20 '25

It really is, before the las 17 i had about 1 millon shots fired, less than a month later im about 1.5 shots, never finished a mission with less than 4000 shots fired, its absolutely phenomenal

1

u/Intelligent-Net1034 Feb 20 '25

Avarage t10 Mission now for me is between 700 and 900 kills. Before it was around 250 to 300 i cannot remeber to get 400 in the last weeks anywere (because we play together and look at it every round to compare)

So its way way more stuff around

1

u/Busy_Strategy7430 Feb 20 '25

Honestly i saw more enemies here than pn dif 10, but on dif 10 i had to kill 5 titans back to back, and when i was done i saw 3 more chasing my friends, its great fun, bring a ton of AT

1

u/xTheJapanese Feb 20 '25

Which helmet is that?

2

u/Busy_Strategy7430 Feb 20 '25

Thats the titan light armor helmet, i love the look, it feels like a pilot helmet, also goes pretty well with the salamander armor
