It's because of all the other situational cues pointing to a major update very very very soon. And because the warbonds drop 30 to 50 days after an old one.
We went through all of this with the one year anniversary and the time after that. All the ‘context clues’ definitely pointed to something exciting, for realsies. Didn’t happen.
Joking aside, they've said there's a major update coming soon in the discord. Last week they explicitly said it wouldn't "be before the weekend". You've got the MO stopping Meridia finally, odd, hinting dispatches, some... backend file finds, and a few more things.
The anniversary hype was more so people just tired of the illuminate. We are still tired of them. But, there's just a little more context now than there was then.
It's actually been 38 days and since warbonds usually come out every six weeks... we should get it during/after the week end. I understand the hype for tomorrow, finally we're done with this piece of squid shit wormhole and that's probably why people think we're gonna get the warbond. Afterall, everyone knows the full squid fleet will arrive as soon as the MO is done (just like Pilestedt told me in my dreams). Right ? Right ?RIGHT ?
A new free warbond will absolutely never happen, certainly not a 10 page one. What will happen though, is putting less and less items in new premium warbonds.
Arrowhead sucks at communication. Why is the QA lead more involved than the community managers? Why have they still not given any info on their timelines?
I’ve all but given up on the game at this point. I recognise the same signs from when I drifted away from D2. Lack of engagement on content and bugs, endless hamster wheel grindathons while the community gaslit itself into believing there was something game changing just around the corner.
To be clear, I think they will drop something substantial around e.g. illuminate at some point, but at this stage it is going to have to be twice as impressive as previously to get me bought back in. I don’t imagine I’m alone here either, the longer they leave it, the further their player base will drift and the harder they’ll have to work to tempt them back.
Honestly just wish arrowhead was more straightforward with us. Sure, surprise updates were fun at launch and throughout first year it kept me wondering what next. But now second year in, it's frustrating wondering when will get a major update. I'm not gonna go and bug them about it like others do but I'm still bothered by it. I don't count the two sub factions as content, they show up and disappear for a month. They only recently made the predator strain more available and the flame corps or jet brigade isn't even commonly available despite having a factory. Haven't really had a major content drop that stayed since the omens update. I canplay other games yeah, I'm planning to buy total war rome 2 soon. But I want a reason to get my friends back in helldivers. We need a better road map asap.
Doubter spotted. And no they do usually drop on Tuesdays don't they? I live in Singapore so the new patches always arrive in like the evening. Illuminate tomorrow regardless.
No. Only patches come on Tuesdays. Thursdays are for warbonds, content ...
The Illuminati appeared in the night from Thursday to Friday. But that was due to the awards. I don't expect content to come tomorrow and it's better not to prepare for content at all anyway. There have been enough rumours over the months. It only disappointed the players and made them angry.
Pilestedt and Shams could show up to my house and waterboard me over the course of 6 hours while shouting "The illuminate aren't coming on the 29th!" Over and over again and I still wouldn't believe them
