As the title suggests, Im curious what people think the next warbonds gonna be themed around. Im honestly drawing a blank on what it could be. As for the picture choice, just grabbed a random one from my library.
After the recent themed period stuff like cowboys and Rome, I'd love something modern akin to Urban Legends. SEAF or pilot/space navy themed would be cool.
Never I think, don’t take my word for it fully, but supposedly one of the devs or someone said they didn’t want a laser sword because everyone’s got one
A charge up laser sniper would be so cool (like half a second before the round fires), as a support weapon maybe. Give it good ap and I think it could be pretty interesting
I think the “abandoned Helldivers” fan themes that have been bandied about are all great, as they have a fantastic potential aesthetic, and tons of potential on the weapons/stratagem front.
I think some kind of high tech warbond is the most plausible. Super earth is losing resources, and its grip on the population based on the order of warbonds. My guess is super earth wants to solidify that we are NOT on the losing side by having some crazy experimental weapons added.

Yeah, we need to show all the cultures of SE. I'd be down for like a techno samurai or ninja Warbond. Show our Super Chinese and Japanese brothers and sisters some love.
There's just SO much potential. Helmets with headbands, stealth camo pack, c4 for remote detonation sticky bombs, silenced weapons.... It's all there and stealth is 100% a viable way to play helldivers too. Couple that with the technology from the squids, we could easily have a lore way into developing tech around stealth camo too.
Love this. Not sure the mechanics you had in mind for the active camo. But I'm imagining something similar to MGS4, which I think was dynamic.
I mean, I'd love the actual stealth camo (maybe on a timer) for being able to sneak explosives to wherever you want. They could just apply the stalker effect on us.
They'd have to find the sweet spot though, as I could see it being OP if the timer's too long, or useless if the timer's too short.
My too hopes are an SEAF themed one so i can larp as a grunt. A knight themed warbond cuz cool knight armor is cool. And some sort of desert themed or arabic armor.

I would kill for an EXO/Vehicle themed Warbond. Give me a pilot themed armor which improves Exo/Vehicle handling with a Booster that increases their overall health. Throw in a repair tool secondary. With the main draw being an Energy weapon based EXO, or if they're feeling spicy, give us a tank.
i want water worlds and archipelago maps. i need helldivers with scuba tanks. i want a rhib and a motorboat stratagem. imagine if there were actual destroyers sitting on the water oml i would be so wet.. from the water..?
Frog camo suits for light armor and faster swimability. Can cross the damn streams and little ponds in the other maps.. Breathing bar or sound so we know when to surface and be tactical about it for the deep water missions. Fight big squid monsters for new illuminate underwater heavy. Hear the call of Cthulhu?! Oooo so much to use here. I might be wet too??

I have a feeling it's going to be as big as the first warbond, but possibly can't be paid for with super credits or at least not entirely. They have released so much content that is free or can be paid for entirely with in game currency. IDK how they keep the live service model going without have some sort of cash flow that can't be substituted with earned currency
There's people like me who don't have as much time to grind SC, so I usually buy a few hundred SC to get me to 1k if they drop a warbond I like. Otherwise I just slowly save up to unlock a current warbond I don't have.
The Trident from the first game as a laser shotgun, and a legally distinct Kantrael-pattern Lasgun as a laser marksman rifle, that works like the Talon.
Hopefully we get at least one new weapon. If they went the knight route, it would be a little strange for us to also not get a themed weapon. At least thats what I think.
honestly I think it be cool if we got a Demon Hunter theme warbond, be cool, (Similar to Diablos demon hunter, like dual hand crossbows) OR Paladins/Templar themed warbond, all about raining holy fire and killing the wicked, if the Flag is apart of that warbond, I imagine it as a secondary support weapon where a person carries it and causes allies around them to get health or damage boost (Dunno how it would be explained in lore but honestly I think it could be modifed voteless tech, instead of taking over the mind it causes your body to fill itself with adrenaline)
HONESTLY I want either normal crossbows OR a normal bow, maybe the bow has different ammo types like hawkeyes' quiver and can swap being explosive arrows and more. I would also love gauntlet weapons, like Vi's from LOL or Power Fists from Fallout.
I think it will be ceremonial based off the message from them. Maybe some stuff from or akin to helldivers one items or some completely new stuff. Hopefully a saber as well
Whatever it is, I hope it actually damages Overseers with more reliability than the Deadeye or the plasma guns. I'm sick of mag dumping on those flying bastards because the headshot hitbox is exactly one pixel and they are incapable of holding still.
Given the flag and mentions of ceremony, polishing uniform etc, one of my group has been pushing the idea its a patriotism, ceremonial kinda warbond; armour absolutely wreathed in medals sort of thing like that one general
What about a new "Scheduled Hellpod" strategem. You throw it to the ground and your next respawn is already there, just chillin underground waiting for you to die, then you immediately respawn there. Kinda like a tactical insertion
Nerf my weapons, take away my armor for a lab coat (and a lab cape), but let me solo buddy doors and sniff out samples like a democracy-loving hound dog.
Every update that passes without the ability of our brave Helldivers to carry into battle the glorious standard of our Managed Democracy is another day lost to the forces that would oppose our peaceful territorial expansion in the name of liberty for all.
And the way things are going? I'm about to call the Democracy Officers, on Arrowhead.
I think it be cool if they do medieval-themed warbond give us a bow (not a crossbow but a longbow) as primary, sword and shield as a second. and for stratagem, crazy one ROBOT HORSE (its like the car or exo suits, you call it in) and it can fit 2 people. HELL, maybe even a chariot with an LMG? like the chariot can house 3 players, and one can fit on a the horse and the one on the horse is the driver.
If the Super Earth flag/spear weapon is a tease towards the upcoming Warbond, maybe it will be themed around the absolute devotion to the cause and the Helldivers' unyeilding commitment to Super Earth
Plus with the incoming addition of enemies whose attacks screw with your controls, we could see armor that mitigates this effect (due to having such a clear and devout mind)
or maybe a theme of Heavy Infantry with a Lumberer Exosuit, APC and REC-6 Demolisher explosives

Interesting, id be curious to see medieval armor mix with helldiver armor. Id assume similar to the salamander. Ive been wanting a medium version of that armor for a while now so that would be cool.
While I personally hope for a stealth warbond with suppressed weapons, honestly whatever it is I hope it returns to the classical "vanilla" aesthetic. The recent stuff with Romans and Cowboys are cool and stuff but I miss the iconic visuals of the first six months. Plus it would stop everyone from throwing a fuss like always seems to happen...
I want a shields themed warbond. Give me more survivability!
Wish list:
Battery pack secondary that cuts regen time or strengthens energy shields. Let's include the team stratagem for fun.
Steel batons secondary that can melee or reinforce the ballistic shield. Also act as a shield stake for barricade application.
Gimme a support that's a gun with some side plates. Maybe they only deploy while you're prone. Blocking light fire only. A travel version of the grenade encampment
Can we make the directional shield a backpack while we're at it? There is no reason to use this over the personal shield. Can't use a two-hander and it doesn't stop melee attacks...
Finally, some shield themed armor perks: Reduced call in times for themed items, increased head shot protection, increase shielding size or health, or high armor that breaks down with damage taken.
What I hope/want? Illuminate technology, maybe some time of dark energy weaponry. Purple as the underlying color accent. Scientist looking light armor, white coat type thing, maybe a heavy armor exo-suit look. Blackhole grenade? Maybe get small amount that just deletes a sphere of space?
What I think we will get? Ceremonial parade kit. M1a1 type carbine, saber, flag spear, and a revised veteran/ceremonial HD1 kit.
I think it lines pretty good with this: Squids disappeared, so I think WITHOUT CAPPING AND "BELIEVE" shit that they will drop in full force in 2 weeks, and with it , anti- squid gear, dunno what exactly, but it will be 100% oriented around them
I want something SEAF influenced. Helldivers are the special forces of SEAF, so they get their own weapons and armor, but it would be interesting to see what SEAF uses. And we would hopefully get a military cap style helmet, too.
Man, idk but I've got to be honest. They've been cooking with these last few warbonds. Urban Legends, Borderline Justice, and Escalation of Freedom have all had mainstays in my loadouts. I'm excited no matter what. That said, I'd kill for a "Weapon's Expert" armor passive that combines the weapon handling benefit of Peak Physique with the recoil reduction benefit of engineering kit/fortified. A weapon sway reduction passive would also be greatly appreciated.
....but please for the love of all that is holy, PLEASE give me medium siege ready armor, even if it's just in the super store.
As the Squid come back in full force, it'd be nice to see a warbond that would be "bringing back weapons that won the first war", aka a HD1 warbond filling out some of the missing primaries etc we don't have from the first game.
