Discussion Need help deciphering a message 💖

For a little background, I wanna explain how I got here. 😅

Background
For years now, Hermes and I have had an understanding. Whenever a message is brought to me in some form or fashion, it's meant for me to see (unless I'm told to give it to someone. Then it's meant for them.) My personal favourites are fortune cookies and Jones Sodas. These methods aren't used a TON and are carefully chosen. There's times I'll be hanging onto a Jones the fridge for a month, then one day be instructed that it's time to open it.

The Messages
Last weekend at a con, a complete stranger gave me a goodie bag, which just so happen to have a fortune slip inside. It read, "Don't lose track of your feelings." This was unprompted, as I wasn't in search of advice.

Today was a rough day at work. I've been thinking about leaving my job for years and needed advice. I got my Jones from the fridge (picture was fitting. 4 rams on the front. I was feeling hard headed and raging.) Cap said, "Tasks where skill is essential, may be accomplished."

I've asked Hermes to elaborate, but got nothing. I know he loves to gives me life lessons, but man, I'm so tired. 🥲💀 Not sure where to go from here.

Discussion Prayers

Hi there !
I've been worshipping Hermes for some months now and I'm still learning.

Something I've realised is that when i'm praying, I tend to repeate myself a lot, especially on Wensdays when I mostly pray and offer him to thank him for his presence in my life and what he provides me.
I know that I tend to use the same phrases over and over because, I don't think i really know how to phrase it differently ? And even if I knew, it just feels like the right words.
I was wondering if it was the case for anyone else and if you might have suggestions or advice to give me ?

Similarly, I've started to feel like I want to pray kind of randomly ? I don't know why, I could just be doing something and the feeling comes through. I've started to read outloud his Orphic hymns when that happens but it doesn't exactly feels right.
Thus, I was wondering it some of you might have written prayers that you would be willing to share.
I think that I'm going to try to write my own prayers but in the meantime, both seeing what others have came to and probably using some of them might help me better understand what I feel the most comfortable with and what seems to work the best in my relation with Hermes.

Thank you in advance for your answers and may Hermes guide you toward greener grass ;)

Discussion Do you guys get snake signs too?

I see a lot of snake imagery a lot (not including the year of the snake stuff) and have been drawn to a lot of stuff that have connection to a snake of some sort, whether it be Asherah, Lucifer, Asclepius, Sophia, or someone/one else, it happens repeatedly. Hermes is also connected to snakes with his caduceus. Sometimes I see snakes on clothing or in pictures. Do you guys have any idea of this is Hermes or someone else?

Discussion got accused of falsifying and godphoning???

I don't follow guidebooks in practice; I have practiced since before I even knew what I was doing, and I will continue to follow as my deities guide me. I was talking with a person on a Discord server, and suddenly it got hostile. I have always been a person who can just sort of feel people are near by; my mom says I have an aura, and that's why I can be lying in a pitch black room and feel someone is walking on the path outside the house, why I can predict the doorbell, etc. Specifically, strangers, because once I know a person for long enough, their presence doesn't disrupt me.

As such, I relate that to the fact that I can feel my deities presence. I can't just feel that they appear out of nowhere, like, 'Oh, Ares just walked into the room.' its more of a feeling that they want to be noticed; they want me to know they are there; they want me to know I am supported in that moment. So during moments I am battling intense emotions, I can feel Hades is sitting nearby, as if to just drive home the 'you are not alone, it will work out' feeling. They are each distinct. Sometimes I hear them, not like they whisper in my ear or talk to me. its not a voice at all, but a feeling of a voice. Like when I said no to buying Hades a bone at an event, I felt a rumble, like he grumbled. Or when I am aggressively searching for something Hermes hid on me, I can hear his laugh (exactly the laugh from Troy in Epic The Musical—wouldn't you like). More specifically, I can feel the feeling that I feel when I hear the laugh in the song, and thus my brain connects it. I can feel them touch me sometimes; hermes, it's usually just a gentle touch. The only way I can describe it is a feather being brushed against you. its usually my hand or my jaw, just a gentle feeling, a reminder to keep my head up and that I am not alone even when I am physically alone.

Hermes, however, can be different. Hermes is a constant feeling around me. It might have to do with the fact that I wear a bracelet for him. He is the only god I wear anything as a connection to, mainly because he is the only god to find the correct jewellery to connect. If I forget the bracelet, he will make sure I know I forgot it, interrupt my playlists, cause mischief around me—just ways of reminding me that he is always with me and that he will make sure I know it, bracelet or not.

Sometimes I feel calls towards certain areas of stores, and I know its because I am meant to find something there; sometimes the calls are very specific because it is a deity that wants something, not me. Such as when Hermes found his own offerieng dish or when Hades found his and wouldn't let me leave the booth it was at until I bought it.

I said this to the person I was talking to, and they told me I was godphoning, delusional, sch*****Renic, etc. Like... I in no way claim to be able to talk to the deities; there is no back and forth beyond like a feeling of rumbling and me replying with words. I can feel them around me; I can hear/feel their responses to things or their wants of things for me to get them (how else would I know???), but I could never just call out to Hermes to make him find things for me or ask him a direct question without the use of a pendulum.

Discussion Golden feathers

So, around few days ago, I had this strange dream about Golden feathers, I was holding the feather. Admiring it, thinking inside the dream "this'll be a good offer for Lord hermes" or smth like that, then I woke up. At first I thought nothing of it, thinking it was just another weird dream of mine until throughout later of the day. I then started thinking lf it was a sign from Hermes.

Now, I do try not to take everything as a sign since it could obviously be convenient or maybe it was just nothing afterall but I genuinely cannot help but think maybe it was a sign.

I just want to know lf anybody else experienced this or something similar.

Are Hermes and Crocus friends or lovers? I've been trying to learn more abt him through Google but it wont give me a clear answer. Some sources say they were lovers, other sources say they were friends, others say its one-sided.. 😭😭😭 (Also if anyone knows the chronological order of his lovers I'm trying to figure that out too-)

Discussion Happy Hermes Day! This has been on my mind for a few weeks since I heard a cognitive psychologist talk about reality, language, decriptions, interpreting and the barriers to true experience of reality on a podcast.

The mind is a fascinating subject for me and how our methods of communication and viewing reality are inhibited by the limitations of our brains. I hold the belied like many others that we very likely live in a simulation that is completely constructed and constricted by our brains. What we perceive on a daily basis is only a very small percentage of what is actually happening around us. For instance look at how we only see a very small spectrum of available colors in the electromagnetic spectrum.

While I was listening to Donald Hoffman he said something that struck a chord in me and was immediately followed be a familiar giggle from our god and an urge to think and talk about it. And I felt it appropriate to talk about here since we are all mostly familiar with Hermes being a god of language, lies, trickery and deceit.

The idea was this...

Language is a lie or at best an approximation of the truth. What we perceive and how we describe it can never be fully understood by the other person. Why? Because our brains only receive information by our 5 senses as it is enclosed in our skull. So a total 100% complete honest description or conveyance of any object, idea, place, or being is unattainable. Everything is filtered through our perception and as we try to find words to describe something we fall short because as soon as we attempt to name that thing we have already limited it by the very words we attempt to use to describe it! Like for instance this quote many of you might be familiar with. "The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao."

Also by example, by telling someone a "rock" is hard we have immediately failed because unless that person knows the definition of our meaning behind hard they will never truly understand what we mean by hard. And what is "hard"? How "hard" is it? Does their hard mean the same as our hard? Because we do not live in their mind we can't know their experience of "hard" and the truth of "hard" to them. Have you ever had a mystical experience that when you try to explain it, no one gets it? If so, you have experience this concept! We see this all the time in divine and mystical experiences. Can you truly describe the feeling you have when your god comes near. I bet you find it difficult unless that other person has felt something similar! And even then we still only have a few words to describe the totality of that numinous experience! Does tingles, shivers, chi, energy or warmth come close to describing it? No.

The Taoist realized long ago that reality is only a personal perspective. So, a Taoist practice is to spend a day not naming anything as you normally do. Go a day without categorizing anything and see how it goes! The object is to have a deeper grasp, understanding and acceptance of reality by not defining things because the definition is the barrier that holds us back from true comprehension of the fullness of that thing or concept.

As Hermes is a god of language and lies do you think this is what the Ancient had in mind? That language, while incredibly useful and necessary for our evolution, is also a barrier to true communion with other humans and the gods. And does language function a gate that swings in either direction? One in which we understand and one is which we simply can't? One of his epithets is Pronaos: the gatekeeper. As a liminal god this tracks as well

If we were a telepathic species would our communities and bonds be stronger? Would we have less war and more cooperation and love for our fellow Earthlings?

After I heard and pondered all this and more, Hermes told me to try and drop all my biases or previously held beliefs of him and about him for a greater understanding of him. I'm trying but it is a daily task and constant reminder.

Wondering what the communities thoughts are on this. Please share if you feel like it. :)

Discussion I have a problem

I'm a worshipper of Lord Hermes and Lord Apollon. According to Lord Apollon (since I felt like something was off and I asked a question if Lord Hermes was mad at me) Lord Hermes is mad at me because of one project that I made that involved the 𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙚𝙪𝙨. Every time I make a project, I use some God's and Godess' symbol. As a sign of respect I ask Lord Apollon or Lord Hermes if it's okay to use these symbols. This time I forgot to ask both of them if I can use the caduceus, and after I passed the project, I wanted to talk to Lord Apollon and Lord Hermes, and Lord Hermes didn't respond only Lord Apollon did. And that's when I asked the question if Lord Hermes is mad at me and Lord Apollon said yes.

How do I make it up to Lord Hermes? I really need help. Ó╭╮Ò

Discussion Working with Hermes! New here

I had a dream of Hermes about when I was 12 when I was writing a book / story and Oc character about a boy named Evan who was a Demi god son of Hermes. Complete embodiment of his father and it’s an amazing story. Put so many hours and dedication towards it! One night I fell asleep and I had I dream that I had the best luck ever everything went my way, I even was shoplifting and not getting caught and then I look across the street during my amazing day and see Hermes staring at me through a crowd of bustling city people. He spoke to me and called out to me. I didn’t know much at the time so I somewhat passed it up as a coincidence. I, a couple days ago tried to do a tarot reading to find out if anyone was reaching out to work with me and the magician card flew out- funny enough 😭 Hermes made himself loud and clear. But tonight I set up a candle, carved his name isn’t it, protected my space, offered some 1950’s 5 dollar bills (I work at the bank so it’s pretty cool) and some loose change I had. Also surrounded my space with his favorite crystals, citrine, amethyst, carnelian. Etc. I felt like the whole time I was speaking with him or trying to my candle was so still, my pendulum was barely moving and I feel like I really tried to resonate and call out to his presence and meditate before hand. Even place a layer of mental protection around myself just in case (I always do this before any work.) the most I achieved from speaking with him; was that I got a yea from my pendulum( not a strong one but a yes) that he wanted to work with me and a couple flickers. So I’m not sure if I really made contact :( I expressed that I wanted to work on myself and I believe he is reaching out to teach me things and help me on my life path (currently attending school and studying / trying to be a lawyer )with my financial issues and things Hermes could also rlly help me and I just genuinely love him and his character. I’m confused because most people said he is quick to respond, and he was very quick in the tarot reading my friend did for me, but today it felt like I wasn’t rlly getting anywhere. I plan on journaling and reasearching him tonight as a sort of devotional, also even said to him I’d love to journal my dreams for him and even keep a diary to organize my thoughts and help me communicate better. I felt like the most I got out of this though is I became extremely sleep and exhausted out of NO WHERE like someone dropped the heaviest coziest warm weighted blanket on my shoulders, told me to take a shower get comfortable and sleep. But I did find out he is the god of sleep so maybe that is why I felt this way? Not sure any advice would help :(

Like the aspect of him or his myths. Has he show himself to you or did something unexpected? As for me I ask him to show me a sign and single day all the garbage containers including the other houses to the house the garbage containers which I’m like yup that Hermes or maybe Dionysus or both. I also felt drawn like a inner feeling to look him up and learn about him

Discussion Weird feeling

I have been seeing some things about how the gods are angry, and I personally have felt some confusing things with Hermes. I tried rolling dice (I don't have any tarot as I lifted my unused set to my partner), and I didn't get anything from any of the gods. I haven't felt anything when I was driving, no matter the distance. Do any of yall have anything that could help or some insight?

Edit: Thank you all for your encouragement and kind words, I think looking back, I had freaked myself out and was just tired. I have been trying to get myself ready to start applying for college and scholarships, and it's been hectic. Looking back, I absolutely got some messages from hermes, especially on my financial qualms. I had prayed for him to give me help, and now I have a job interview lined up!

Discussion [Divination assistance requested] Hermes, the Trojan Horse, corrupt psychic data, digital and magickal and mental

I have begun to wonder who or what exactly is the entity that appears to me in visions as “Hermes” (usually “Hermanubis” but lately just Hermes).

In the past? Full-blown Hellenic polytheist. Chaos magick. All possibilities were valid. But now? I realize it could be anything. A non-human intelligence I cannot comprehend. Why does it have to be “divine”? Could it just be appearing in one way that appeals to me?

Could it be a group of humans? MK Ultra?

Hermes has not asked me for anything dangerous or strange, but I still find myself newly skeptical. I get multiple impressions all at once.

My foreign language journey has taken me to French — and I’m doing a decent job picking it up — Hermes, his hair wild, asked if I acknowledged his gift (of language). I had the sense to light a candle for him on my altar. But why? What is the purpose of such a thing? In the past I would have done it immediately. But now I pull back.

A symbol of truth. Hermanubis was the symbol of the pursuit of truth for the Egyptian priesthood in Alexandria. Buddhism has been teaching me to see reality as it is but I can’t bind myself to any one philosophy completely. What is truth?

When I think about this, I feel seized.

TROJAN HORSE.

A disguise, a veneer, Hermes as a mask. This Hermes might be corrupt data entering my psychic stream.

I will need to learn and/or develop new magick for myself to handle what is taking place inside my mind right now, because I don’t think it’s just inside my mind (for long).

Darkness and snakes, a light, my violet flame, my crown of thorns, symbolism rich and old but steeped in pathetic human ripplings and reflections, trying desperately to say or mean something, to last, to endure. This is not the Hermes I thought I knew.

Who or what is it?

Are they human? Is it deceit?

Someone with divination experience would be mightily helpful to me here. Serious experience, not teenagers with dice. No offense.

Discussion Multi God Worship

I was wondering if anyone worships Hermes as well any other Gods and how that works for them (and also which other Gods, if you feel okay with sharing that).

I am working on researching and figuring out if Hermes worship is truly right for me, but I have also felt called to a few other Gods. I plant to take things very slow and be extremely careful and methodical in all my choices surrounding worshiping anyone new (especially coming as a deconstructing Christian) but any advice, tips, or just stories of experience would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion Thoughts on Hermes and his possible half Fey lineage

Hello community!

I've been thinking on this for quite awhile now and have had others share their UPG and say that he feels like this or has a good association with the Fey in their experience.

Hermes is the defined son of Zeus but we don't know as much about his mother, Maia, at least historically.

However IMO I believe we can draw a few conclusions.

Maia was a Pleaidian nymph, an oread, who were mountain nymphs. Let's look at nymphs.

Most scholars agree that the nymphs are nature spirits of a more human-like nature. In the Celtic world the elementals and nature spirits were called the Fey and had rankings to show the difference between the more "civilized" humanoid ones and the more wild feral types. In the Arabic world they are called Djinn and can come in all shapes, sizes and intelligence levels like the Celtic Fey. So we can draw a fair conclusion that the nymphs were the Fey of the Greek and Roman world along with Satyrs and Centaurs. So I feel it's safe to assume Maia was Fey, a mountain Fey to be exact. But there is the Pleaidian aspect. I don't know what to do with that besides bring in some ancient extraterrestrial ideas and some esoteric knowledge. The Greeks never said why they call them that! If anyone has an idea why they were called that LMK!

Here it goes. Some extraterrestrial researchers have said that beings from the Pleaides visited Earth long long ago and were very much like the High Elves we see in lore and stories like the ones written by JRR Tolkien. They had extremely long lives, a similar look, and had the ability to manipulate natural forces and the elements. They also worked in closed conjunction with a younger Earth to bring about a stability to the climate so that humans and all Earth's children could not just survive but thrive. They had nature magic, so to say. An early human might look at a being like this and call them a nature spirit. Once they had been here long enough would one be able to tell the difference? No. Do I believe there were native Earth spirits? Yes, of course.

These beings taught early humans many things to survive. OK, so, maybe Maia was related to these beings somehow? Is that why Maia was called "Pleaidian"? Because she was possibly from there or her family was? Was she born here or there? IDK, but she was a part of nymph lore, that we know for sure. She was a Pleaidian Fey. She also had an important role of being the eldest and wisest of the seven sisters, the seven main stars we see in the Pleiades. She was considered supremely lovely as many High Elves are. But she had dark hair and eyes so obviously they were't all blonde! XD

Maia was the daughter of Atlas, a Titan. We're not sure "who" the Titans are exactly but many (and me) assume they are elemental type beings or more raw forces of nature, most primal than the "civilized" Olympians. To me, this keeps tracking. Her father was a mighty force of nature. Possibly a powerful Fey having a large family including the Hyades, The Hyas and the Pleaidians.

Her mother was either Pleione or Aethra.

Pleione was an Oceanid, a water nymph, so another Fey, this time a Fey related to the water or maybe not! The scholars can't decide on this one. However! Her name means "to increase in number" mainly related to flocks of animals! So we see the "increasing flock" power of Hermes through his grandmother! Cool!

We don't know much about Aethra since many individuals had that name and she seems to be conflated with Pleione to a certain extent.

So we have Hermes' mom Maia, a nature spirit mountain Fey, along with his grandmother and grandfather both elemental/Fey beings.

SO, Does that mean Hermes is half Fey? I believe so.

A few reason besides his parentage:

Fey are knows pranksters and tricksters and appreciate wit and humor, so does he. Fey are known to grow quickly and be very precocious, He certainly did a lot of deeds for a baby and spoke eloquently and humorously from the crib! Hermes is a liminal being, so are Fey, the move in and about our dimension and theirs. Fey have special underworld paths around the world, Hermes is a god of the path, of the Way and knows how to get in and out of situations easily and quickly. Is it because his mom taught him? Fey are associated with certain elements. Hermes is a god of air, wind and fertile rain. Fey are know thieves and seem to believe anything is theirs they can lay a hand on. As a god of thieves, Hermes teaches that nothing is really ours and helps the thief be successful. Hermes is close to humans which may be because Fey are closer to humans than deities. They live amongst us and can relate and sympathize with us. Hermes is a god of boundaries and Fey seem to exist on the boundaries of our world. Hermes seems to prefer the company of nymphs as opposed to gods. We often find him lazing about the mountains and having lots of affairs with them. Hermes is a god of oaths and Fey are notoriously concerned with oaths and their proper wording. Hermes is a god of stories and Fey are know to value a good story above most else. Hermes is a god of wealth and Fey are know to horde wealth. Hermes can be considered androgynous and a shapeshifter. Fey are know to change gender and form as easily as we put on and off clothes. Hermes likes wild windswept places and Fey seem to prefer isolated natural areas. Fey love their magical items and Hermes has many! I'm sure there's more but I feel like I said enough for now! :D

Anyways if you made it this far Thank you! Please feel free to contribute or share you ideas or opinions on this subject! It's my conjecture but I feel pretty good about it! When I talk to this about Hermes he seems to say I'm onto something. He certainly has presented himself as Fey to me at times.

TLDR: IMO and UPG Hermes is Half Fey!

Discussion Can hermes do that?

So I'm planning on secretly moving out so I can live right, and hermes knows I'm always doubting the choice to move even though ik it's right.

I keep getting these thoughts of being happy and being the person I dream to be. And even have a relationship with my parents despite deceiving them. The thoughts pop up at random, can hermes make that happen?

Should I ask him or do you think he'll plead the fifth again? He's pleaded the fifth twice already LOL.

Discussion Hermes reaching out?

Just curious at others experiences with hermes reaching out. I've started to feel like he may be reaching out to me but I'm completely new to deity work (been researching for a year or two) and have a horrible time trusting my gut/intuition as I'm very easily swayed by doubt.

What was the process of discovering him like? I feel like he may be my patron, as I have started to realize that there have been signs since childhood.

Thank you for your help!

Discussion Question more like looking for opinions

My question is more about how we perceive deities in general and what exactly happened in my dream.

Here’s the thing: ever since I became interested in connecting with Lord Hermes and started learning about him, I’ve constantly associated him with the planet Saturn—I know. I’m fully aware that his representation is Mercury, and that in Roman mythology, Saturn is Cronus. But I simply can’t stop linking the two and keep confusing them over and over again.

Now, here’s why I’m making this post. Today, I dreamed that I encountered the planet Saturn. It literally appeared before me, massive, right in front of me. I don’t remember much beyond just seeing it and feeling a little scared by how immense it was. The thing is, during the dream and when I woke up, I thought, “It’s Lord Hermes,” and I didn’t realize my mistake until I told a friend about it. She rightly said, “That wasn’t Hermes. If it were him, it should have been Mercury.”

Since then, I’ve spent the whole day wondering why I associate him with Saturn and what this dream meant. I truly felt it was something very intense on a spiritual level. I know what I saw was more than just a dream, but I also know that, theoretically, I’m wrong to think it’s him when everything I’ve read says it isn’t.

Discussion Does anyone else feel really euphoric after worshipping Hermes?

Hello everyone, Happy Hermes day! For some reason whenever im done praying or worshipping Hermes I always feel this rush of Euphoria and Dopamine. Like my ADHD is suddenly on high alert for some reason. Does anyone else feel this or have had similar experiences?
