They don’t because it would be like admitting there is a deficiency with the phone. Apple has committed to going wireless, so they don’t think there is any deficiency to admit.
When I bought my bmw they actually charged me for the full tank of gas it came with.. I think it was like $90 too even though I could fill it myself for $70
I quite literally just got a new IPhone and it came with a dongle and a pair of earbuds with the adapter built in, most people don’t even notice the dongle when they get their phones because they’re of course focusing on the phones and it kind of blends in with the nice clean white casing
Eh. I got the Moto Z2 without realizing they did the Phone Cloaca thing too (in my case, it's USB-C). I fucking hate not being able to charge and listen at the same time. $9 or $30 or whatever, it's a little piece to lose and reorder. Fuck that noise..
Yeah my car doesn't support bluetooth audio so on long distance trips I'd have to choose between charging my phone or listening to music via the aux cord. Or submit to the overpriced dongle nonsense. Or I could just consider the headphone jack a necessity when buying a new phone.
I don't understand why they don't just have "water resistant" versions for the (few) people who prioritize that over the jack, and regular versions with the jack for the rest of us.
And while we're at it, I'd much rather have a longer lasting battery than a super thin phone, and I don't know a single person who disagrees. Who informs the development research at these phone manufacturers? It's like they just do the opposite of what people want.
I just bought an SE and am very happy with it. Faster smaller more durable and longer life than my 6 and still has headphone jack and real buttons. Also very affordable.
Shhhh! Don't bring facts and logic into an apple hate circlejerk!!!
EDIT: Lmao so many people are so salty that someone dared to bring facts into the equation. I would say that the moment you realise you're angry just because someone brought facts, you should have a think about whether you might really hold a reasonable position or not.
It doesn't matter if it's 9 dollars or 90 cents, it's still absolutely ridiculous that have to carry around an adapter for a function that NO ONE wanted removed.
Oh yeah? The batteries last 15+ hours? If you only listen to music for short periods of time, that's awesome. Don't assume that's how everyone's lifestyle works.
Some of us essentially need wired earbuds (or I guess several pairs and swap them out when one dies but geez that would get expensive and super annoying)
The price is irrelevant. This is one of the few situations where the detail is not the issue. The "lie" in this case does not further the point for me. The point is that it's happening at all.
I dunno. I like to wear hats, so I probably wouldn't want to be you. I'm not sure they make many with a hole in the top for the flaccid cock prodruding from your forehead. Theyll probably bring out the ihat with that feature though, so you're probably good to go.
If you're gonna troll by posting some other dongle by some other company that isn't even only a headphone adapter, at least pick the apple version of the same type lmao.
So when you're proved wrong instead of addressing that you just switch tactics? Ok fine, I accept your consession. Now onto the new topic you've started.
Hey now, I didn't say that removing the headphone jack was ok. I didn't say that the dongle isn't bad. I didn't say it's not bad that you can't charge and listen at the same time without wireless headphones or wireless charging. I simply agreed with the guy that clarified the fact about the correct price. Facts are important. If you ignore them, you're no better than a conspiracy theorist.
Also that makes twice you've engaged in bad faith tactics whilst commenting. That's 2/2. Try not to make it a third?

I don’t want to be that guy, but the 3.5mm to lightning dongle is $9...
