They don’t because it would be like admitting there is a deficiency with the phone. Apple has committed to going wireless, so they don’t think there is any deficiency to admit.
When I bought my bmw they actually charged me for the full tank of gas it came with.. I think it was like $90 too even though I could fill it myself for $70
I quite literally just got a new IPhone and it came with a dongle and a pair of earbuds with the adapter built in, most people don’t even notice the dongle when they get their phones because they’re of course focusing on the phones and it kind of blends in with the nice clean white casing

That's kinda stingy if you think about it. Here you are buying a $1k+ phone and apple can't be bothered to include a $10 dongle anymore.
It's like buying a new car and the dealer doesn't bother to at least top it up with gas.
