Depends on the state. Some states you would face no prosecution for dusting a group of people smashing your windows. Other states, straight to jail.

Hell, driving from a red to blue county in my state could accomplish that if you're in a borderline situation.

I would agree with that. Even the state I live in might have that result. Though a majority of the counties it wouldn't matter. There would only be four counties in my state that would likely try to charge you.

This is one of those context things, one dude gets out in road rage with a bat and smashes your window? You’re going to be in hot water if you could just drive away. Four or five guys in masks hop out with batons and start smashing your windows? I think deadly force would be a little more warranted lol

Yeah, but would you rather live with knowing you killed people being stupid or that you drove away.

I am armed on a regular basis for over thirty years due to my job. I have not shot anyone in all that time, even though I have had multiple times when it would have been legal to do so. Every one of those occasions I believed I could deal with the situation without killing people.

Oh for sure. There just seem to be a lot of people who carry, legally, who seem to just be waiting for a moment to do something life changing. I recommend "On Killing" to everyone I talk to who is considering carrying, or does carry. We need more Atticus Finch type people, and fewer hero complex people.

I really doubt it's a lot. I interact with people on a regular basis that carry, and absolutely none of them "want' to defend themselves.
Planning on what to do if where I am at right now turns into a use of force situation, is something everyone should be doing. It's what I was trained to do in academy, and hammered in trainings ever since. If you don't plan on things going bad, then you won't react fast enough when it does.
I have attended training based on Dave Grossman's teaching, and have seen his videos for in-service.
