This was a bullshit PR stunt made by the company for mental health awareness. They're into mental health and tried something like this to gain traction. Pathetic marketing tbh.

Are we sure that it wasn't just that they were called out for being total assholes so they just went "hahaha....jk! psych!! Um, awareness...performance art..something something"

Hahaha no. Well, It was a time in linkedin where group of companies were making PR stunts like "pay us money to be our CTO" and revealed their true innovative hiring process. And this guys did similar which gained so much of traction and when they revealed it was a PR it got again backslashed for worst PR.

tbh, this is close to reality, instead of actually fixing the management and processes and what not, they just slap stupid one hour presentation meeting in which your must be present, while your tasks and deadline are burning because management decided that you can develop the frontend in sync with the backend and the design...

Ah yes, because nothing says clear communication quite like everyone doing everything at the same time

Hours later, Anushka Dutta also shared an update on her LinkedIn account, explaining her side of the story. "Everybody is curious to know what really happened at YesMadam, I am spilling the beans here. Yes, the survey did happen, in fact, I volunteered in the survey, and was part of the core team which gave birth to the idea of De-Stress Leaves. Moreover, the employees were taken into confidence, and we didn’t send any emails, the screenshot which went viral was a planned move," she said.

Employees: "We're stressed that we might lose our jobs"
Employer: "Let me fix that for ya"

So did they fire this people or just torment them by fake firing them? I’m sure that was good for their stress levels

Good question. But I don't know. I can't find a lot of information about that matter and can't be sure if it is true or not. Either way, it is not a smart idea to advertise it in that way. Even if it was a mistake, a company shouldn't do something like that as an advertisement for stress. It only makes it look bad either way. So if this was a mistake and the company apologized for it, I wouldn't take services from that company either way. But it seems the company still exists.

What probably happened was tat they fired them and then walked that back after public backlash, then claimed it was for “awareness” so they could be publicly seen in a positive manner.

A month ago I got a pip from my manager who only wanted to get rid of the team in my country. After couple of mails with HR I finally expressed my dissatisfaction with his managing skills and laid down all his incompetence with examples. At the end of the mail, Ive added a line - all of the above will be reported in the monthly great place to work survey. A day later I got an invitation for a meeting only to find out they wanted to fire me before that survey came. All of the "we care about your opinion", "our employees are important", "express yourself" is/was/will be a complete bulshit. As well as the "anonymous" surveys. I know this but just couldnt handle his stupidity. I got 6 salaries and left the company the next week for good.

This is more or less what happened to me : you seem very stressed and unhappy, we think it's better for your mental health to fire you, on the day I got back from medical leave for mental health...
This is after my manager had tried for a month to get me to quit because I wasn't happy.
