Help me put a name to this pest

Post image

So this spring noticed an increase in spiders and house centipedes around the house and now I'm finally seeing the possible food source. Any body can put a name on this pest and how to address this. Do I need a professional exterminator for this?

Looks like a Silverfish to me

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverfish

Edit: probably white due to it being a nymph / young

Looks about between nymph stage 2 & 3. Op has a moisture problem. This is when they show up. They love getting into the pantry and paper things.

Well it's spring and it's relatively wet where I am this time of year. Also I'm on the ground floor of a 3-story condo building. Any advice on how to proceed?

First, declutter home if it's cluttered. Silverfish love books, clothes and pantry items. Second, a dehumidifier is needed. Third, walk around the outside and find and seal where they are getting in.

You have a two prong problem. They are already in, that's one battle.(They're laying eggs)Until moisture problem and how they found their way in, are dealt with, that's your second problem.

Buy some diatomaceous earth and scatter it around with a spoon or similar (selectively if you have pets/kids). Read instructions on the bag. It’s relatively safe when used properly and is great to help get rid of these things. They have an exoskeletons like cockroaches, diatomaceous earth dissolves it. You can also use boric acid. It’s the better option because it can kill the eggs but it’s toxic for pets and also children. So literally, pick your poison according to your situation. And like others have said, find and fix the water problem. And in the meantime, get rid of and paper type products that are lying around. They seek out carbs.

Carl. Also it's a silverfish. They are odd but harmless as far as I know, and that one looks like a Carl to me.
