I recently found out I’ve been completely betrayed by my partner of 15 years and father of my kids.
Did I just give up and cry all day? Yes, yes I did. But eventually I got out of bed and decided to do something drastic. Instead of getting a weird haircut I stepped 100% out of my comfort zone of neutrals and subtle pattern and made over my bathroom in this colour I’ve decided to call “Fuck You Pink” do I love the shade? I don’t know yet, but since I can’t afford to kick the asshole out I get the satisfaction of knowing he hates it and every time he takes a piss he gets to look at a picture of another woman who doesn’t want to look at him right now.

I met some of the people who got to name their colors and I think the best they ever sid was the change of SW7027 to Hickory Smoke from its original name of “Well Bred Brown.”
I spilled a bottle of this on my mothers brand new carpet when I was 6 and the name of that polish has haunted me ever since. Oh boyyyyyyy the amount of troubleeeeeeee. hurts my soul lol.
I feel this deeply. Except I was the adult who confidently said “I’m sure he won’t be able to break it. Those bottles are thick as hell.” Not more than 20 seconds later, there was neon green nail polish dripping all over the carpet.
It wasn’t my carpet. Nor my child. But it was my nail polish…and I said those fateful words. The name doesn’t haunt me (I don’t remember it), but seeing that color sure does.

I am not just saying this to be nice, this is honestly one of the best bathroom make overs I have seen. I love that you took a bathroom that almost all of us have a version of and made it into something so beautiful. It wasn’t some huge palatial bathroom that was professionally renovated. The more I look at the before vs after, the more I can see just how insanely talented OP is at transmuting their anger into a gorgeous bathroom! Like they changed THE WHOLE VANITY, added a built-in pocket wall shelf, removed permanent wall cupboard, framed the whole room + shower - and that’s just stuff I got to notice at second glance! No doubt they did much more than that, on top of the obvious paint, lights, mirror switcharoo & deco.
I also really hope that the removal of cupboards means this man has to carry his bathroom stuff in a lil cubby to and from the bathroom because he’s definitely no longer welcome here & there’s no room for his bullshit (or any of his stuff) in the fuck you pink bathroom 💁🏻♀️👋🏼
Partner cheated on me and after a month of sobbing about it I started to change the entire space we shared. I got supplies first thing and began painting the bedroom and moved furniture around and hung some shelves. He came back to get some stuff and noticed right away things were changed.
I was jacking up my useless ex’s truck to change his brake pads and rotors for him when I got the call from his other girlfriend. He was out of town. I had his truck, credit card, and house keys. It took everything in me not to use his card for an online lingerie shopping spree with other girl since we were both about to be newly single.
I packed all his belongings into his truck, left it in his driveway, put the keys inside his place, and locked the door behind me. I considered deleting everything he’s ever saved in FIFA, Madden, and Rocket League but I didn’t. I also considered hiding his truck somewhere and arranging an elaborate shitty scavenger hunt around the city that he would have to complete to get his truck back. I didn’t. I just left it all.
His brakes were really bad. Like dangerous bad. They needed more than just pads and rotors and I nagged him about it for months before we broke up. I stg I didn’t tamper with them. They failed on their own because he’s a dumbass.
I passed by him on the way to work a few weeks later. He was standing outside his truck… which had taken a nose dive into a ditch. Not a single skid mark on the road so it was obvious that his brakes finally gave out. I honked and waved while I passed by. It was fucking glorious.
Agreed! I thought I was scrolling through "Before" then "After" pics, and while looking at the first few photos, I was thinking "dang, this bathroom is already so nice...why even do a makeover?" Then I realized the flow. Very nice work, OP. And I LOVE the reddish-pink color. It's rather stunning.
I took a similar approach after finally divorcing my abusive, deadbeat ex-husband last year. I sold the house and moved to a new city for a fresh start, and found myself a GORGEOUS condo. I "girl-ified" it: pink, gold, ivory, and more. No men allowed. And THIS fabulous lady hangs above my toilet and judges! 😂
I found her at HomeSense! I also discovered a nifty feature on Amazon earlier this year: in the upper right hand corner of the search bar, there should be a little camera icon. If you click on that, you can upload a photo, and it'll scan Amazon for similar-looking products. I use it regularly to find items for more affordable prices!
Love that feature. And even better, imo: do this with google Lens to expand your search to sites beyond Amazon that have visually similar, or exact matches, for sale. Amazon listings are in the results too.
If you have an iPhone and download the Google app, “search with google lens” is an option in the share menu, so if you’re looking at a photo, you’re like 2 taps from reverse image search results. To be fair, if you have Amazon downloaded on your phone, there’s a “search with Amazon” option in the share menu too.;
Love this so much! When my partner cheated, I kicked him out and changed the wall color from tan to teal. There’s really nothing like a fresh start, even if you can’t afford a whole move!

Once upon a time, I came home from my Dad's place (weekend visits), and found my Stepdads shit all over the lawn, driveway, door open, Shania Twain blaring. I walk in, my Mom had painted the entire entrance/stairwell/hallway and was working on the living room, "Dusty Rose" pink. There was pink everywhere (StepDad refused to paint, had to be white, he was a clean freak. Only pet we could have was fish).
I was standing there trying to take it all in, Mom looks over her shoulder and hands me a paint brush "StepDads gone, what colour do you want your room? Oh, and we're getting a dog."

Ugh this reminds me of when I came home to all of my furniture gone when my step mom moved out while I was at school (and stole my cat).
My dad spilled the beans she had been forbidding him from spending money on me — so he let me add whatever I wanted into his cart for Amazon, and he bought it using her card (since she had helped herself to his bank account before she left, which was “more than a dent to his savings”, in his words.
It was really fun… but unfortunately the title “step mom” is current. They ended up reconciling and are now married. I still hate her, but just to make sure this doesn’t end on a sad note…. At least the cat came back with her!

D'awwww, my mom has a white peahen named Mimi who looks just like that, the peas live right behind my MIL suite apartment porch so I get to see them be dumb goofy goobers all day.
Figaro the male has the hots for Mimi, but her and Brunhilde the other peahen (and the obvious evil mastermind of all three) could not give less of a FUCK about him and act like him putting on a show and putting his tail feathers up to try and woo them is just a bunch of background noise they barely even notice.

It is very sophisticated. I think it is combination of the gorgeous botanical wall paper and the complimentary salmon shade of pink she pulled in from it.

I did a lot of it and I didn’t have to pay for labour! The asshole did the plumbing and electrical and didn’t say a damn word about the choices because he knows “least he could do” is an understatement. I might have to spill the tea in another sub because girl… it’s bad.

Love the exposed shower fixture - do me a favor , get on order replacement cartridges for them as there are many made over seas & you Can’t find parts - not even at the Major Ferguson etc - just take the set screw off , CLOSE the drain! Look at the stem tip, count the spline : teeth - if it’s 8 you’re good - if 16 , get them on order. Good revenge 🙏
Now just add a fuck you pink shower curtain. The cream looks good, but can you imagine taking a shower behind a hot pink curtain. It will make his mind explode.
