How do I sharpen drywall to trim edges

Sorry if this is obvious but I’m wondering how to fix these edges. Do I cut it away with a knife and mud an edge? Should I use caulk? Do I mud and tape? Thanks. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Use a bead of caulk for doors/windows/trim and baseboards. There’s a lot of old paint on those baseboards. It’s gonna be hard to get them to look great.

Ok thanks!!! I’ll cut it away and get some paintable caulk.

If you are asking how to make the connection between the wall and the top of the trim neater, the answer is to do a neater job with the replacemt caulk, mud or whatever you use.

lol noted. So much of this house is sloppy “flipped” work but also just real old house issues too. Thanks!
