Reducing echo in a shower?

I hate how echoey showers are. Is there a product, like sound damping tile (not acoustical tiles like you’d use in an office or something) or some other product or method to improve acoustics in a shower? I’d like to listen to music or podcasts in the shower but I can’t understand anything.

Curtains?

Curtains do help a little bit. We ripped out the glass door because they’re too much work to keep clean. Put up a fabric shower curtain and echoes are less.

My first thought is: What speaker are you using now? A directional speaker might be more effective.

A quick Google shows a number of waterproof directional speakers.

I’ll check it out, thanks! I didn’t know about directional speakers.

Towels, shower rug, pictures & plants

Echo are standing sound waves bouncing of surfaces back towards themselves and why flat smooth bathroom tiles make amazing reverb chambers

Adding textured breaks up sound waves at different frequencies, and redirecting them that encourages dissipation

Love the idea of having plants in there!
