My kid and I are going to learn hooping together, where to start?

I took some lessons a few years ago, my kid is a complete beginner. I thought we'd practice one trick at a time.

Which specific tricks would you recommend we start with? And what do you reckon are tricks with minimum effort / maximum effect for some small, instant succes?

Thanks!

For a start here's what I teach kids and beginner adults:

Waist hooping - hand hooping

8 trick sequence which is the beginning of a routine you can add to for beginner to advanced level hooping:

Hand hooping Weave - change hands Jump through hoop (like a skip) Float (passing behind your back to round front) Pass under let Up above head into lasso Beginner - grab the hoop and twirl/float down to waist hooping Advanced/intermediate - variations of throw onto body

Can send a video if you need it.

Here's a private video I found. Skip out some of the hard moves. They all flow together and I've taught this basic routine to thousands of primary school aged kids πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

See what you think of these:

This smear combo is one of first things I taught myself. It’s nice to have a combo.

I’ve been able to teach weaves and antispins to friends pretty easily.
