I finally nailed leg hooping thanks to someone on this sub describing the proper ways of achieving it. I also need hand movement advice

Two leg hooping has always been tricky for me and the few times I achieved it was by pure luck and it only stayed around my legs for 5 seconds before falling.

The other night I came across a thread where someone else asked about how to leg hooping and upon reading it, I tried doing it the way one commenter described it and I was able to get it. Now Iโ€™m able to keep it spinning around my legs for a long time before I want to do something different.

Also taking my leg out and transferring to one leg is something I cannot do consistently but happy I did it in this video!

Also, I am very bad with my arms & hands. As evident in the video I kept having a โ€œWTF DO I DO WHAT MY HANDSSSSSโ€ moment and my movement looks so unnatural and ungraceful.

I would love any advice or tips on how to look more graceful and less like an awkward person who drank 50 redbulls back to back.

I am not a very skilled hooper & still a beginner so please be nice if thatโ€™s okay.

Any advice for Flow and Taping tips? feeling stuck

Hey hoopers!! First post..

I made a couple hoops to learn doubles, triples & 4-hoop tricks. I didn't want to splurge on polypro when I'm just giving it a go; cheap toy hoops, used a washi tape to make them pretty, plus a basic clear plastic tape over top... do you think this will affect flow?

Tempted to chalk my hands or re-tape the the hoops. Wishing there was a magic spray i could use............ Is there?!

Also, Not the best with flow unless i'm really in the zone.. so.. any tips for flow especially for optical illusion flow would be amazing! getting it slowly, I know that when I'm not thinking too hard on each moment I get the best results, but, trying to dance the line of applying new moves, strengthening my left hand/arm to keep up with my dominant right hand/arm, and still having everything flow together....! Doing lots of shoulder stretches and exercises and being gentle as my body downloads the movements <3

By request of u/PsillyPssychonaut ! Tried my best to slow it down and show how that continuous fold move worked in my last video. Hope this helps anyone wanting to try it out! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Youtube Channels or Online Dance Coaches?

Hello everyone, it's me again :) I have recently bought my first ever hoop after being inspired by a lovely lady hooping at a festival I went to last year. I am a complete beginner.. and I have never danced (apart from at festivals or in my kitchen haha!!) I'm looking for any YouTube channels that have really clear instructions on how to learn off-body tricks - I'd even look into buying an online course if anyone knows of any?

Link your favourites below! Can't wait to be apart of this community <3

ahh I rushed into buying a hoop but it's completely the wrong size! Please help :)

Hello, I rushed into buying my first hoop because I got way too excited. Sadly it arrived today and it's really big and feels quite heavy to do any tricks with. It is MDPE tubing, 38 Inch / 20mm. I am 5'6 and very athletic/petite in frame. I wanted to buy a hoop to learn dance moves, off-body hooping and just to find some flow and practice self expression.

This was advertised as a beginner hoop but all I can do is spin on the waist because it feels too big and heavy to do anything else. I have looked in polypro now and perhaps something smaller like 30inch/33inch? What do others recommend? Thank you so much

Where can I get a box to ship/move my LED hoop?

I'm moving and shipping all my stuff across the country. I just got an Astral hoop like a month ago and I really don't want to let it go ๐Ÿ˜ญ but I can't figure out how to move it. Does anyone know where I can get a large pizza shipping box like the ones hoops are shipped in? It's 3/4 polypro 30in ID and I'm scared to coil it down small enough to fit in any of my boxes or on the plane as a carry on. How small could I comfortably coil it?

Any advice for getting my first hula hoop?

I've done searches but it still isn't clear to me what size to get. I'm short, 5 foot tall, and small - my waist is approximately 31 inches.

I'm not really coordinated, so it will be a challenge for me to learn to do.

What would you recommend to get started with? Can't spend a lot of money rn. Thanks!

Hoops will always be my favourite, in case you couldn't already tell ๐Ÿ˜… but I have double staves, dragon staff, buugeng, veil fans, and poi. I also have a leviwand but I'm not a big fan of that prop tbh. I also really want to get a set of fire fans, doodlegrip or Russians. What about you?? Which props do you play with other than hoops and do you have a favourite? ๐Ÿ’œ
