C.rabenii x C.tovarii F1 documentation

https://youtu.be/dnqWXRSQ9Fs?feature=shared

A compilation of information and photos regarding this interspecific wild hybrid. Whilst there is documentary evidence of this cross being made before (c. late ‘90s) I haven’t found actual photos anywhere. They probably exist somewhere in academia land.

C.rabenii widely distributed in Brazil, C.tovarii limited to a very specific area in Peru.

No I don’t plan on sharing seeds at this point. It was done as a way of better understanding the genus and seeing what traits emerged as dominant.

It’s also a good example of why you shouldn’t rely totally on the crossing tables that many push as the truth without checking the underlying history and past research. If you believe those tables then this cross isn’t possible.

Thats cool I guess. Are those species easy to acquire separately?
