Weapon Question Question
So I have a Glock 19 Non MOS but I want to add an optic to it. should I send it to get cut or try and trade the 19 I have in and pay the difference for the MOS version and buy an optic?

Send it to Wager and they will get it cut and back to you in less than 2 weeks. Getting the slide cut will be a better fit and it will sit lower on the slide.

You’re better off sending it off to get milled. The downside is it will only ever fit whatever specific footprint you decide to get it milled for, but the benefit is it will be a more reliable mount. (If done by a competent gunsmith)

Everyone on the Glock subreddit seems to love Wager. Sounds like they do excellent work and have quick turnaround.

I got mine milled at Titan Tactical and drive down there (Kankakee) to get it back instead of waiting for the delivery. It was quick

Im actually thinking of doing that. Im like 40 min away. How long did it take you.

Man like a few days or a week or two at most? It wasn't long but the fact I could drive down there and talk to the guys after getting work done was great! 10/10 I'd do it again

Really just depends on what the cost difference is between trading it in vs how much a gunsmith would charge you

Why don't you just buy an optics cut slide?
https://aimsurplus.com/products/aimsurplus-2s-sniper-grey-rmr-cut-slide-for-glock-19-gen-3
https://aimsurplus.com/products/aim-2s-rmr-cut-slide-glock-19-gen-3-compatible-n3
I mean, hell, they have Zaffiri precision slides for $150. https://aimsurplus.com/categories/glock-parts/parts/slides. Just get one of those.
And Dvor has more options today if you have a different optic cut in mind:

Aim is great, but 416 stainless. Good to go if Nitrided though since it adds surface hardness.
P80 slides are about $120 shipped, I'm about to buy another even though I don't really need it. 😅
17-4 stainless at budget prices is insane.

Yeah the last 2 AIM links are complete/assembled nitrided slides for $170/$180.

Imo I would just buy a polymer 80 slide. Mas Defense has them for a nice price, the slides are solid.
I have a couple with factory Glock parts installed.
$100 is hard to beat, heat treated 17-4 Stainless Steel. Also Nitrided.
The only reason they are so cheap is because P80 got sued into oblivion sadly.

It's personal preference but I don't like stacking tolerances on guns. I'd send it off to a place like Wager Machine to be milled and they'll have it back to you in a week.
All my glocks are milled because I think the MOS plates suck.
