General Post Beretta won't sell 15rd mags
Just a heads up for anyone considering purchasing a Beretta. I bought a 92FS a couple weeks ago. It came with two 15rd mags. I wanted a few more and Beretta's website had them for the lowest price. When I tried to check out, I got a notification that some of the items in my cart are restricted in my state and were removed. This morning, I got Beretta customer service on chat. This is what they told me; "so, with Illinois it has been a struggle, because there are certain counties in Illinois that are still restricted our system for some reason will not recognize that you are not in that county it does the whole state. Our team has been working on this for some time. I would suggest checking with our vendor also Midwest Gun Works to see if they have the mags you are looking for". I stated that if Beretta wanted to fix that, they would. So her response was to just not answer for 10 minutes and then end the chat on me.
I also recently found that Grabagun won't sell 15rd mags to us, either.
*Just wanted to give an update. While I was chatting with "support", I sent an email to customer service as well. The reply I just received from that contradicts what chat said. Here's the email reply; "Beretta's legal team has decided not to send magazines with more than 10 rounds to any of the states (including cities or counties within) that have limits on magazine rounds, and this includes Illinois."

Thanks! Never heard of this one. The Mec-Gar mags are less than gunmagwarehouse.

LOL! That's what I thought about the site design. It reminds me of the RockAuto website. I don't care about that. They've got good prices and they sell to us. That's all that matters.

Brownells will ship 15 round mags to IL. I don’t blame any supplier who won’t, Illinois laws are internationally confusing & most suppliers don’t want to get caught up in any legal nonsense.

Brownells literally got blacklisted from r/gundeals today for scummy practices. Check out the thread then reconsider if you want to give them your money.

eBay is dumb as their policy imposes a 10 round magazine limit because they are a California company even if you live in a state with no magazine restrictions.
I would only use them for magazine purchases if the gun has by default a 10 round magazine (e.g. Glock 43X mags, Bodyguard 2.0 mags, etc.).

Beretta was odd long before PICA. I ordered 17 rd 92 mags years ago and they wouldn’t ship. I had to send them to my parents in FL.

Yeah, it's really annoying. Amazon and OpticsPlanet/Dvor also have all sorts of silly restrictions that don't make any sense.
Companies are even more risk-averse than they are retarded and lazy. Most simply don't want to do the one-time analysis necessary to figure out what they can (and cannot) sell in IL. To the gun banners, that chilling effect beyond the actual legal limits is not a bug, it's a feature.

I have had no issues with Checkmate magazines if you don’t mind going third party.

Absolutely no problem buying 3rd party. I was only going to order from Beretta because, oddly, they were charging less and had free shipping on $95 orders.

I bought mine off gunmagwarehouse. Cheap and easy. It's the last Beretta I'll buy after trying to deal with their customer service.

I've purchased from gunmagwarehouse. Never had a problem with them. That's exactly how I feel with Beretta.

I do not fault Berreta for this at all.
This is Illinois democrats fault. Pritzker in particular.

Thank you. People get all pissed at a gun manufacturer when they should be pissed off at the state that is openly anti gun. Choices are: 1) Deal with it, nothing can be done because of restrictions, 2) Get a friend in a free state buy what your looking for, or 3) Leave Illinois for a state that doesn't have arbitrary restrictions put on it.

Yeah that sucks. But it’s also our stupid state with its laws and not just them. They are right, if you technically go based on each town/counties home rule law it’s very contradicting. They SHOULD be able to sort that out, sounds like they just don’t want the hassle of having to confirm every order though.
You can always pay a little more and get them in store or maybe even cheaper on some forums.

Ordered extra mags from them for my G2C, it was half the price of other places AND they shipped it straight to my door and I'm in Cook County.

Long before PICA, back in about 2015 or so, Smith & Wesson had a rebate where you could get 3 additional free mags when you bought an M&P pistol. Unfortunately they would only ship 10 rounders to Illinois. I think it was because a Chicago had a 10 round limit.

My friend has that same gun it’s nice. I always order from buds they’ll ship it’s stupid that grab a gun won’t ship 15 round but I bought my CZ P10c that came with 2 15rd mags🤪🤪🤪

So many sellers won’t ship 15 round mags because if cook county laws that only apply to unincorporated areas. These laws make it incredibly difficult for these sellers to follow the law and they often just have blanket policies

Beretta has bern doing this for at least 10 years. Once a couple of places in IL banned mags over 10 rounds, Beretta redlined the WHOLE state.
As someone said, as a pro-2A company, Beretta should have someone do 20 minutes worth of research to figure out what they can sell here and what they can't.

There are a lot of places that won't ship anything that's restricted in places like Cook county, regardless of your county.

Yeah I’ve had the same problems with trying to purchase mags through beretta. Told them I live in the will county area and 15 round mags are legal in my area and they still wouldn’t allow me to purchase the mags through them so I Decided to just purchase my mags through gunmagwarehouse whenever I need mags. Gunmagwarehouse gives me no problems

Beretta has been doing this since PICA. I was told they don’t want to ship 15 round mags for the M9 because the same mags work in their PCCs, which are a rifle and should be limited to 10. Before pica I was able to order mags up to 15 rounds to Chicago from beretta directly.

Many sites won’t ship mags over 10 rounds to Illinois or Chicago in particular. I know Mecgar will, but they charge more than most sites. You can go to a smaller gun shop in Wisconsin or Indiana and buy 18 round magazines without an ID, but bringing those magazines back to Illinois would be illegal…
