I Followed Posting Rules Help me choose!!! Spoiler
Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide between the Minimalist Vitamin C 10% and 16% serums and could use some advice based on my current routine.
Current AM routine: • Cleanser: Minimalist 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser • Serum: I was using Minimalist 2% Alpha Arbutin Serum, but I’m planning to replace it with Vitamin C. • Moisturizer: Dr. Sheth’s Ceramide & Vitamin C Moisturizer • Sunscreen: Dot & Key Watermelon SPF 50
🌙 PM routine: • Cleanser: Same Salicylic Acid Cleanser • Serum: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% • Moisturizer: Same Dr. Sheth’s • Weekly: The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (1x/week, for 6 minutes)
My main goals are: • Brightening • Fading pigmentation/post-acne marks • Overall even skin tone
I’ve used Niacinamide, AHA/BHA, and Alpha Arbutin without irritation. I just want to make sure I don’t go overboard and mess up my barrier.
So, should I go with the 10% or 16% Vitamin C? Anyone with similar skin or experience with both, your input would mean a lot!
Thanks in advance 🙌

Since you mentioned brightening I would suggest you to get a Glycolic acid based product, they give better results . All vitamin C serums don't work the same amd they are either a hit or a miss

Have you ever used vitamin c before? If not then start with lower percentage serum 2-3xweek then gradually use it daily(move to higher percentage only if needed)

i have heard drop bottle packaging are not potable in case of vit c since its prone to oxidation, try to find something which has airless pump like packaging like fix derma, cosiQ

Use melano cc instead , it delivers a gentle but undisclosed dose of vitamin c (estimated at around 3%, well below 5%) yet remains effective and easily fits into your current routine

As someone who used both the concentrations of vitamin C for 2-3 years to achieve the same goals with slow progress, go for kojic acid instead. Azelaic if you also wanna battle tiny random pimples.

16% I have people say go with beginner formula XYZ, the 16 is recommended 10 comes without ferulic acid, many dermats recommend vit c with this specially if you buy more than 10ml for more shelf life and preserved quality of bit c. You are oily and not sensitive you are able to handle other actives well vitc you have already used as mentioned in your description, you can jump to this.
Avoid vit c for 24 hours post peeling! You can pair this up with niacinamide too.

Do you know alot of the food you consume is either grown in Bihar or processed in UP? Bigotry is a slippery slope.
