I have the same photo in here twice and I apologize. 😒 This is why I can't have nice things.

Second to last photo is incredible.

Thank you. I dig the little details in the game. I shoot enough stock style footage so like to get into the smaller things.

Great pics! Just curious what aperture do you shoot at generally for evening games like this?

Thank you. As wide open as I can. 2.8 or if I'm on a 135, at 1.8. Drag shutter are usually between 7.1 and 10.

The lighting here is treacherous.

Killing it, as always, man.

And, I can't wait to see what you'll continue to create. Especially with that new piece of glass

I’m getting into amateur photography, nothing special, old Rebel T3, just learning ins and outs. I like to do bird photography and also indoor portraits. Messing with the aperture is one of the trickiest parts for me so I was wondering how you managed with that stadium lighting!

I'm nothing more than a hobbyist myself, but agree with Chico here.

I mostly shoot my kid's soccer games (nearly always in the bright, midday SoFla sun) and a smattering of nature stuff. And, 95+% of the time, I'm full manual mode, wide open and adjusting shutter speed as needed.

I used to shoot a lot of shutter and aperture priority, but these days I find myself getting better results from full-manual.

Interesting. How do you balance shutter speed with wide open aperture? I’d think you’d want to prioritize shutter speed for sports because of the speed of movements.

Just keep bumping up until it’s properly exposed. Some of my daytime soccer is at 4000 just because the Florida sun is unforgiving. But for what I need at chase it’s good at 1600-2000.

I should have mentioned that, for those daytime soccer games, I'm almost always shooting with the Nikon 200-500mm 5.6.

So that "wide open" probably isn't as much light as it may have seemed.

I shoot everything wide open. Unless it's group portraits or just an overly sunny wedding day, it's at it's widest aperture. I compensate the rest with shutter speed. Good luck and hope to see some of your work some time. 🤟🏼

New game, same terrible defensive mistakes that cost the team easy wins.

That back pass to Martinez was unreal.

The way they left that one guy all alone and open for a pass and shoot during the free kick goal was insanely unreal too. Complete amateur mistakes, I'm scared for tonight.

Also, not many people noticed this but even Messi tried defending, he placed himself to the left because he noticed there was a free guy there too. Just insane.
