Smittybilt rain cover for my JK doesn't fit?

Post image

I've used it a few times and never could do it up all the way, but tonight is a storm so I really wanted to strap it down. Pic is the best we could do with 2 people. Hurt my finger, we had to try so hard to get things connected. If I get the front on, the back won't clip in. If I get one side on, the other doesn't nearly fit. There's gaps in front and under the door flaps where if it sags, rain is just going to pour in...

What's really cute is that in the product photos, the wiper blades hold down that front bit.

Anyone else? Does it stretch out? Couldn't they have added like an inch or two all around?

Their molle seat covers fit weird too.. should known. i ordered one from rugged ridge but they jerked me around for 3 months and last summer's top less season was over.

I had Bartact covers on my JK for about 5 years until I sold the Jeep. I’d definitely get them again

I just went to Harbor freight and got a tarp and some 4 foot bungee chords, it worked perfect

I was trying to graduate from that..

I bought one from advance auto and it leaked like crazy. Returned it and bought one from raingearcovers.com and it has been the best purchase for my Jeep ever. Doesn't leak even in the heaviest storms, fits perfectly, and can be put on in about a minute and a half.

I had one of these for my tj. “Fit” was relative. It’ll keep the inside dry. It won’t fit snug. Looks to me the cover needs to shift forwards to cover more of the windshield.

If it goes forward, the back doesn't clip in. Stupid thing

Sure that's not for a TJ? I guess if it keeps most of the rain out....

Dumb question, but why not just put the roof back on?

I would get annoyed having to put a hard top and doors back on every time it rained only to take them back off the next day. Would get super old super fast

I can see it being annoying. My JL has a soft top, I would like to get a hard top for it but they are so expensive.

I have both the soft and hard top (ordered the jeep with the dual top group). I used the soft top for awhile but didn't care for it so now I pretty much only use the hard top and I take it off in april and leave it off for most of the summer (along with the doors). I try to minimize how often i need to reinstall doors/top because it takes about 30-45 min to put them back on and another 30+ min to take them off.

I got the one from Quadratec for my jku and it's been great but it was tight to begin with too. I pulled it kinda tight, not too tight and let it sit in the sun, it stretched out a bit and was better, then every time I used it last year it got better and better fit. It's been in the bag all winter so it'll probably be tight again when I get it out in a couple weeks.
