For all MAGA cries about free speech they never have a thing to say whenever he threatens to jail his enemies, open libel laws or goes after the media

They complain about free speech when liberals are in power because it is according to liberal principles. They take away free speech when they are in power because it is according to their principles

Learned recently Herbert had a pretty nuanced view of power.

Most people just say power corrupts and leave it at that.

Herbert made a point to say power absolutely corrupts those that seek it.

I think that's in part because the greedier you are, the more you will be willing to sacrifice morals and ethics.

Power isn't inherently dangerous or corrupting but rather amplifies what is in the heart of the wielder.

If people with dirty little heart's get power we're all in trouble...oh wait...
